Seems that we have a more precise release date now...

Battlefield 2 Coming in June

Quote:

According to the latest DICE Financial Report, Battlefield 2, the sequel to Battlefield 1942, will be released by Electronic Arts in June (thanks: Blues). Battlefield will feature immense, richly detailed, destructible environments, from city streets to remote forests, in some of the most notorious hot spots around the world. Each map in Battlefield 2 adjusts in scale to support the number of players in the world, providing the ideal vehicle-to-player ratio and an optimized gameplay experience.

Battlefield 2 Con05 Movies

We added in our download area two Battlefield 2 movies from BF Con 05, a German event which took place last week. The first movie offers almost two minutes of in-game footage, while the second one is a big screen presentation, featuring 56 minutes of gameplay narrated by EA's Jamil Dawsari.

Battlefield 2 Con05 Movie #1 (66.1MB)
Battlefield 2 Con05 Movie #2 (636.43MB)

Just checked the trailer and it was great. Very sad that we have to wait so long now.

Lets not forget - EA games are the poorest coded, most unneccesarily hardware intensive games on the market.

Given your 9700pro barely cuts BFV, you can all but forget about BF2... Sad

OBJECTION!
i run BFV on a 768MB RAM and Barton 2500 (tried it also on my older AXP1800) with Radeon9500 pro.
all settings are set to the highest (all maximum) 1024X768 BUT with no filters .... runs like a charm!

My Rig:
AMD Barton 2500+
768DDR PC2100 [266Mhz]
Gigabyte GA-7VT600P-RZ
Radeon 9800pro 128MB [R350].
AC97 5.1 onboard Sound Controller.
CD+RW and CD-ROM Drives.

BFV was rushed. They're taking their time with this one. I really want a demo so I can test it to see if it runs smooth on my comp.

I'm worried all of those heat seeking missiles will become too annoying.. no one likes getting picked off by that crap. It's like a pilots skills are pointless when some lowly moron can click his mouse to fire heat seeking rockets. Sad

I know there are some counter-measures in the game though, hopefully it is a good balance.

I've got a very strong feeling that this game is going to be exactly the same as the first two battlefields, and play like crap from an infantry perspective.

From the latest screenshots on Gamespot and the trailers around the place, it looks almost identical to the original battlefield, just with higher-res textures and hi-poly models.

My moneys on this having the same clunky feel as the original.

Huh?

The original battlefield was one of the best games ever. What are you talking about? I WISH it will be as good as that.

Cluncky feel?
