Video from a movie that's part of a custom campaign someone is working on via the beta editor that's been released, rather impressive though suffers from slowdowns due to the many units and detailed environments.

didnt really impress me ...
But all this discussion about how sc2 is a minor improvement over sc1 is dumb.
Whats makes it next gen is really the editor. The custom maps for sc2 will make dota look like a joke.

pretty impressive considering the short amount of time the editor has been out.
with editors like this it's almost like with console game development.
it takes time for developers to realize the full potential and really use all the power available.
that we're already seeing such cool stuff after such a short time makes me wonder what we'll be seeing in the next couple of years once map makers figure out the editor more.
also keep in mind that the editor available so far contains exclusively the multiplayer objects, abilities, environments and units/characters. many units and stuff are only available in single player so they're not usable yet.
once the final game is released there will be access to the full content, so there will be craploads of other stuff to use that's not available for map makers right now.
I'm pretty sure the quality will skyrocket at that point.

there are already custom plugins to import textures to sc2 editor.. so hopefully we will see much more custom skins than we did in wc3 as those should be much easer..
we can only hope they will improve custom games list..
yeah that rumor has unfortunately been proven wrong a few days ago.
there's still not date but I expect it to go online again next week.
oh and smikis, blizzard already aknowledged the issues with the current system so I'm pretty sure it'll be improved eventually..
It's definitely not perfect but it works at least, so it might not make it in time for release.
But who knows...they might have some surprises for us when the beta comes back up.

they did.. then they said there will be massive fixes, and then they went and said that the game we have today will not change until release.. ;/
Granted, it's not a full game, but if you get tired of 4000 APM bots kicking your ass, it's definitely a good way to practice your build orders. You can also customize the enemy waves and make your own builds, so YABOT is definitely a useful tool that will help you improve your timing and it gives you a nice check list so that you make sure you are building units and structures in a timely manner.
build order testers are definitely useful, no doubt about that, but yeah you can also use a sc2 launcher app to play against custom AI that actually provides a challenge.
Even if the AI is really good and does kick your ass, there's lots of AIs that don't actually cheat, so it's good training.
you'll know that when the AI comes to attack you with X units, a real player could do that as well at the exact same time, so it's good practice even if you end up losing in the end.
yeah it's not possible to play multiplayer right now. there's no crack or anything that you can use.
The beta might be back up soon though because the SC2 servers seem to be back up.
You can't play though because it doesn't accept the old sc2 beta version. will have to wait for a patch.
It might not even mean much, maybe they're just internally testing something and the beta won't be back for another 2 weeks... but here's hoping that it'll come up real soon now

That'd be awesome. I got it preordered anyway but I wouldn't mind getting to play the campaign early
Probably too good to be true though.
But I do think it might be possible... as you all know the beta was taken down almost a month ago, and I suspect they might have done that to put the finishing touches on the game... then they go and continue the beta and if necessary have another patch ready for release.
wouldn't be out of the ordinary for a game to be essentially finished a month before release.

If the game is out in about 3 weeks, it need to be gold right now or go gold in the next few days. Surely they will need manufacture a LOT of those discs (I know, the packaging and so on is already finished), and it will take some time to do all that and distribute it. I doubt Blizzard will take the risk that this game will be sold out anywhere...
