sometimes restart pc helps to fix this issue (mostly in case that your pc was on for long without restart.)

Finished this, started off very generic. Then got a bit better, still nothing special. 4 endings, see them all by pressing "continue" after the end, then do different things.

cant understand much of the story, the voiceacting is really quiet

Every time you launch the game, while still at the menu, alt-tab to windows and adjust volume in windows volume mixer. Volume always defaults to about 25% for this game.

I am a little bit disappointed with Singularity. Bad graphic issues, bad models, very quiet sound and clunky combat mechanics. Raven you have disappointed me.

But the story and few ideas borrowed from HL keep me playing it.

Funny, I haven't had any sound issues at all, or anything else with this game Smile Maybe it's because I'm running Win XP 32 bit with an old Soundblaster Live Very Happy

This was the first thing I've done and the audio mixer in my case was set to 100%. But I've tried it when I was already in game and not in the first menu.

I have only just stared playing this game the telecommunications duopoly(twice as much fun/twice as oppressive as a monopoly)in the country I'm in has cut all d/l speeds back to 170KB. My first impressions like nearly everyone else's are of disappointment.
Bioshock 1 (2 was a heapa steaming IMO) engaged us because it managed to create a plausible alternative world. Same same with RPG's like Fallout. Metro for all it's flaws was credible enough to drag the player into the metro world, but this Singularity thing is a half assed attempt that fails because the designers were either too lazy or too ignorant to recreate a plausible 1950's Soviet Union.

Apart from the woeful attempts at cyrillic which have already been discussed, the attempts at Social Realist art don't cut it because they use the Social Realist form but communicate western capitalist concepts rather than 1950's soviet socialist memes.
The school is more like a 1950's amerikan school than a 1950's Soviet one.
But where the atmosphere really fails is the way it 'russianifies' 1950's amerikan paranoia rather than trying to emulate 1950's Soviet paranoia. I know that western media forms prefer 'the mirror' approach to conflict, where each side has the opposite views of each other. It simplifies issues so that distortion and myth replace accuracy and truth but using that simplistic technique just doesn't work in a game.
The most glaring example of this is when the movie in the school tries to explain the fear of amerika in nationalist terms. "They will invade Mother Russia" or some such tripe.
Nationalism was an anathema under Stalin. He had just spent a great deal of time, effort and millions of lives trying to build a socialist state that was what we would call 'multi-cultural', therefore using nationalism as lever into patriotism could only undermine that work.

A real soviet movie of the time would argue that amerikan aggression threatened socialism, not that it threatened 'Russia' or 'Georgia', or "Estonia" or any of the other satellites.
Yeah it is a small thing but it illustrates exactly why it is that most peeps aren't drawn into the singularity world, the lack of attention to detail mostly doesn't ring any 'thats bullshit' bells but it doesn't spark up the nostalgia synapses either.
Combine that with the graphics and audio failings, the continual nags about which key you should be pressing (handy if like me you will probably drop in and out of the game over several months but irritating if you can remember the controls), the rigidly enforced corridors, and the unoriginal plot to get a waste of money for anyone other than a particularly unaware 14 year old console player.

Been playing for little over an hour .. and so far? So far I am absolutely LOVING this game! It's incredibly fun and exceptionally atmospheric. The TMD is one of the most ingenious devices I've used in a game - right there next to the Zero-Point Energy Field Manipulator of HL2, the Shrink/Freeze rays of DN series and the Portal gun from Portal. Audio is top notch, and even though there's no subs .. I'm not having any problems as yet keeping track of the, surprisingly interesting, story. Especially like the ambient audio too, VERY chilling and I've been creeped out on more than one occasion so far.

No I don't give a toss about the graphics, I've seen and played worse UE3 titles - and this one actually has some really nice touches, though the textures are horribly poor.

All in all, I'm liking this a LOT right now. Great game so far.

Just found something on Guru3d forum about the .ini file settings being in the registery.

Quote:

Maybe some config tweaking will help this game Wink
