I know that it's where the indexes should be, but I've disabled indexed search service (I really don't search anything :\) and that folder is just taking up unnecessary space.
So my question is: can I delete that folder, and will sth bad happen if I do it Very Happy

And pls no let me google that for ya stuff, I want to here if anyone had done it...

You can remove indexing and search from the "Add or remove Windows components". Wink

Windows.edb is the search index database, so if you have completely disabled indexing - then it should, theoretically, be fine to delete. The whole folder is basically related to search indexing so, again, if you've disabled indexing then you can just delete the folder since it's only holding prior indexes from before you disabled the service.

Here's some further confirmation for you;

It is only safe to delete after disabling this component. Otherwise it is in use, so you need to unhook it, and this can cause a crash. If it doesn't, the next log-on will create it again and slow down the system because it starts the indexing again. Wink

That's why I said "if you've disabled indexing" Very Happy If he's already disabled it, then perhaps Windows didn't bother to clean up and remove the - now unnecessary - files?
