You would have to literally scan every planet for minerals to get 70 hours.

i actually did that... dont ask... but i did that. every planet i depleted, and it only clocked up around 42ish hours. EVERYTHING... literally EVERYTHING in the game (original, without all the dlc) done is only around 40-45 hours. there is literally no way he clocked up 70 without actually leaving the game running while he went off to do something else.

Did you read all codex/journal pages or whatever it's called in ME2?

I remember getting into some right bitchy arguments about play length on ME2. It took me 44hrs to do absolutely everything (pre-DLC) - no rushing, but also not dawdling. I scanned enough minerals to get every upgrade, then after that it was only cursory scans to see if there were any distress calls. Accomplished every side mission. Examined every bit of data and lore.

... and I got SO much shit off people who reckoned they did the same in 17hrs Laughing

46 hours to do everything, including these DLC at the difficulty just under "insanity", hope I don't lose the savegame before ME3 is released. Very Happy

Has Bio announced any decent-sized DLC upcoming? Now that Overlord is out, I wanna do my replay through the game - with the DLC installed this time - but not if something mega is going to be coming out soon :\

I think they announced that they were planning to release a series of DLCs which form some sort of story as a transition from ME2 to ME3. It was posted here a while ago if I am not mistaken. But nothing big is planned in a near future as far as I know. Should be safe to play Smile

Ok, thanks! I reckon ME3 is still a good ways away for now, so at least I'll have time for a third playthrough before it hits Very Happy

70hrs can be easily explained.
First I did another playthrough of ME1, to get me in the mood and to receive a good importable Shepard.
I also hate stupid repetition, so after a few minutes of mining I realized how fucking stupid this minigame was and installed a trainer to add minerals (only minerals that is, I didn't add any credits or other stat points because I think they are balanced alright).
Then I downloaded all the DLCs from here (thank you, btw).
And then I set it to the maximum difficulty, because I strongly feel that it is only so easy because of console players with their clumsy pads... you simply can't beat the aiming precision of a mouse.

And then I did every Companion and Side Mission and DLC mission there is.
I'm a "slow" player. I don't like rushing through things. And sometimes I had to reload, so I think it's safe to add a few hours to my final savegame which reads 67hours.

If you need it, here is a %20No-DVD/Fixed%20EXE]link to the 1.02 patch.

I don't think we can talk about an expansion when it comes to the ME trilogy. Still, a major DLC might be possible, perhaps... Feel free to call that, eventually, an expansion. Wink

It's funny that there aren't any rules or even a working link to the FAQ here. Even when I registered I didn't have to agree to any rules.
So how exactly did you figure that out, Overlord?

Lol 70hrs I can only laugh. My save is nearly at 90hrs. I'm the slowest player. Beat that! Very Happy

90 hours? What the fuck Laughing Is it actual play time or do you leave that shit on over night? Fallout 3 is understandable since it's open-world, but I can't fathom what you're doing to get that high in this game.

Oddly enough my DA:O game was actually less than ME2, despite their 60-80 hour playthrough claims.

I'm at just under 50 here. But I read all the codexes, even for planets. And also got 100,000 of each resource. Betting that'll net me a nice bonus starting out in ME3 Wink

Element zero can be found on a few planets. Once you find it, it's abundant. I don't know if there was a true pattern, but I mostly found element zero on small planets near a sun.

I got 169000 Element zero and ~900000 of the other 3 resources. No cheating Laughing

But seriously there must be people with even more resources because I stopped scanning every planet until depleted after 2 thirds of the game.

There's a list out there somewhere of all planets with Element Zero. But I just searched for them myself instead of using the list.

But yeah, there should be plenty for upgrades and enough left over to get to the 100,000 threshold that I expect ME3 to reward you for.
