Welcome to Gears of War: Front Mission Edition Sad Fucking Squeenix, why allow someone to trash an established franchise by catering to the ritalin-doped muppets of the gaming world? AND WHERE THE HELL IS THE ENGLISH RELEASE OF FRONT MISSION 5, HUH??

Yes, let's give Front Mission to the studio that ruined Silent Hill.

But, then again, it's an entirely different genre, so maybe it'll work on it's own, I dunno. We'll see.

Correcting people since 2007 even if they're not wrong.

Well to be fair, those guys should do well in making an action game as shown in their SH game. Only problem there was that Silent Hill wasn't exactly known for being an action game.

Personally though I'd rather they just bring over an actual Front Mission game to the PC. Armored Core is fine, but eh.

"Wanzer"? Cool Face

"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

I suppose you didn't get the memo?

Turnbased has been declared dead, and if you happen to like turnbased games, like I do. Then you're old and your taste in games is outdated, we're currently in the Michael Bay era of computer games Smile
And I think we can all agree how fantastic the Michael Bay movies are.

Turn based sys games are like chess, and chess never dies. As long as u like to use the brain god gave you, and get a good kick out of it.

Its just an adquired taste, you can say its outdated, i say its an elite thing. And even if u are one kind of rasta-gangsta-hip-jop, trousers along the knee type, u respect someone on the turf who does this thing, and usually that person is known for being the one with the brains.

cheers.

pfff turn base isn't Real life. You picture people doing turn base movements in a grocery store, and some asshole is camping in front of the cheese and won't move for you.

And since you are attacking from the side, he wont be able to block and your attack will gain +10% damage. It all works out in the end.

Batman combat felt a little like turn-based, because he jumps from one place to another very quickly to hit the bad guys, like in turn-based they jump-hit-jump-hit, hehe.

I know no one actually cares about this, but I gotta say something...

"ammo replenished"??? so you can pick up ammo in the field...oh great. :/
In the previous games(at least in 5,that is the one I played last) you didn't pick up anything from the field, you planned ahead and took a certain amount of missiles/rockets before the mission. And that was IF the mech had sufficient weight ratio...

Also, the enemies die way too easily...few rockets and that's that.

Oh man,I can't watch these vids anymore,I'm getting depressed. Very Happy

It doesn't matter what else they've done to this once great franchise ... turning it into a TPS cover shooter was all the damage it needed. There's no saving this festering pile of shit now. RIP Front Mission.

*goes back to playing the EngTrans Front Mission V*

... oh and psssst; a lot of the FM titles allowed you to bring a supply truck into missions with you, so you could replenish a certain amount of ammo/missiles/etc Wink

I only remember seeing ammo truck in FM3(mind you,I never did finish FM4 for some reason) and even that required some tactics, since you couldn't bring it to the frontline.
Here it's the enemies who drop ammo like in a normal TPS...sucks I tell you. Very Happy

Don't worry about that sir, you don't have to convince me. The words "Front Mission" followed by "third person shooter" sealed this game's fate.
