This might be a good thing to say when you're e-raging, but if I was someone who worked at Valve I would prefer for people to not think of it as Source 2.0. The game looked fine by 2007 standards, but it certainly looks dated today. I'd say that Source 1.5 would be a much better thing to say.

I really hope they've overhauled the engine a lot since 2007, which I am sure they will have.

Looks great. And yeah innovations are always nice, but I wouldn't really like gimmicks for gimmicks' sake in HL, either. I doubt Valve will disappoint with ep3/HL3 when it eventually comes out tho. Even if it's just more of the same. Razz

Well anyways, I think I read someone that P2 takes place 100+ years after the original game.. most prob Chell is dead so who is the player protagonist now? Anything mentioned in E3 about it?

ever heard of Microsoft MultiPoint Server 2010?! Razz

it basicly turns a windows 7 in a terminal server without the need for thin clients or RDP client.. http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2010/feb10/02-24WMSLaunchPR.mspx

Highly doubt the USB video adapter would run anything past source engine tho ;D

Then force PC players to buy two console controllers and play a fucking FPP game on an analog sticks. Good luck.


I don't understand why its that hard to make some games what you can play with 2 keyboards and mouse while playing split screen.

And on top of that to play a split screen game over 2 monitors.

Now that multi-monitor setups are not such a rarity, it occurred to me too, that no one bothered to try and implement 2 monitor multiplayer as well. But I imagine performance considerations definitely play their part.
However now that Eyefinity and the likes are being supported, I think it's a right time for the developers to look into it. PCs had more suitable hardware for decent split screen implementations for a while anyway.
