I installed one of those free games out of the thread a while back and apparently it managed to sneak starforce onto my computer without me knowing. I don't restart my computer much, but apparently the starforce install / compatability with Win7 x64 is shit. Been playing some NWN2 and it was acting up so I decided to restart. sfvfs2.sys corrupt = windows headshot. On the upside..fresh windows install?
GODDDAMNIT.

Lulz, why would they include the fuckin' SF in the free version? Talk about adding insult to injury...
Anyway, the SF site says to:
- install the game and the SF driver included in the game with administrator privileges
-DO NOT REBOOT
-update the SF driver to the latest version
-reboot

It's probably because the developer didn't bother with including a stripped version of the EXE from the Starforce crap, instead just flipping a switch which allows you to play despite the protection. :\

Lol... I apparently reading failed. Yeah I figured if i ran the starforce update to the new version that is compliant with Win 7 64 it would of been ok..but man it fubared the shit out of my computer. Since I didn't realize it got installed.. the system restore point had already rolled over. I tried so much shit in restore command prompt and trying to find an updated version of the .sys standalone. There are NO fucking standalone .sys files for starforce.. you have to have windows GUI up and running and download their patcher. I was pissed, but the newer releases of Windows 7 reinstall really quick, and I do pretty good backups so didn't take me long to get back up and running. Probably took me 2-3X the time just trying to find a way not to reinstall.
