The domain is hosted in the netherlands..and i'm in the US so i never expect fantastic load speeds..but it seems lately that either the HTTPD/IIS processes are getting bogged down at night time. It always seems to resolve itself in the morning so guessing they have a daily reboot going.

It works normal for me :\ unless my 'normal' is your slow  (which wouldn't surprise me  )

As pumpy already stated the response time is awkward but when it responds it loads quickly enough.

So makes me think that someone is generating loads of fake requests (ddos) and I doubt this board is hosted with IIS.

It's not, It looks like it's hosted on apache. I also don't think it is server response time as you can goto http://nfohump.com/test.php (404) and the server will process the request quite quickly. Seems to me it's something with either pulling from the DB, maybe be doing backups, or just the scripts being silly.
