"We are a Japanese company and Japanese companies are not known for PC titles. But we need to have a product on every platform - including PC - so in that sense digital will start to become more important for Namco Bandai. There is better margin and using a digital platform gives us direct access to the consumer."
Mr Comte went on to say that the prominence of the second-hand market at retailers is leading to diminished returns, a problem which only effects consoles.
Digital distribution isn't the golden ticket though, as piracy is still a significant concern for the vast majority of publishers, a situation doubly worse on PC.
However Namco Bandai's move does represent a significant shift from within the industry and may signal more publishers focusing on the PC with a new impetus.
This subject is sure to be discussed further at next week's E3, so stay tuned. |

Eh. Unless we're getting Tekken via Steam, it's meh. So far, all Namco's given us are casual meh games.

Namco also made pacman and a few others in their past
I see no problem with more arcade/console type games on the pc, so long as we get the good games as well as the inevitable shitty ones

Namco was the publisher for warhammer mark of chaos which was a bad ass game and it wasn't a console port. |

The only game for which i can remotely care is Tekken.. Its not my favorite fighter.. but all the rest... meh junk.. which we will get eventually..
