Moving to LA tomorrow for a 12 month work placement...

LA is a shithole, unless you are a drunk who likes to hang with Lindsay Lohan LA Lakers are nice though ...

just go south or north. Been to LA 2 times now, nothing special. San Fransisco, and the bigger Bay Area on the other hand are quite enjoyable (at least as a european). You will enjoy it much more i guess. Only 2-3h drive from LA (of course depending on where in LA you are... it is quite big you know )

If you are a nature person, you might enjoy the sierras and some of the parks to the east, Yosemite/Sequoia/Joshua Tree park.

BTW, to quote a San Diego dude i know "I'd prefer the european weather with fog and rain and stuff. We always have blue blue skies and no rain, it is boring..." Laughing

I've been to LA loads, there are nice parts too. I prefer it to San Fran, and as I say i'm going with work so... not alot of choice. Living in a nice neighbourhood though.
