Four Lions 10/10 Never give movies 10 out of 10 but this was funny all the way. Gotta give credit where it is due to Chris Morris for going where others do not dare
Book Of Eli 6/10 Needed more action but pretty good once you get into it.
Unthinkable 8.5/10 Just great acting and story.

BTW those who have not heard of Four Lions check out this. Currently out in Cinema's in the UK only.
City Island - good film - 7.5 - took a bit of time to get into but got better and better - worth a watch!
yeah, well i would even give it an 8 or 8.5. I am surprised that noone knows this movie. After all, andi garcia plays in it.
His acting was fantastic. It lost a few points because, for example, apart from being very funny, the boy interested in fat chicks played no part in the story really. That, and I fucking hated the annoying stupid bridget jones character. When will Americans realise that 99% of British women do not sound like that.
6.5/10 - enjoyed it. its got that simple plot/dumb dialog feel that low budget films usually have, but man the fight choreography was fucking awesome... better than a lot of big budget films, thats for damn sure. came out around the same time as Ninja Asian did (and no im never going to stop calling it that), so a comparison feel warranted... the ONLY thing ninja asian did better, was that it had a better spit-polish on it thanks to its hollywood roots and budget... thats it. story was just as silly, dialog was just as bad, and yeah... ill say it... the fights were worse... definately worse... the 'main' fight in the basement was definately flashy and had that very polished manufactured feel to it, which made it feel more 'cinematic' (there was certainly enough cgi and other effects going on at the time), but for choreographic quality and 'fuckin a!' feeling, ninja beats it. scott adkins is fucking epic, that guy has a great future... saw him in wolverine, then his kickass fight in the tournament, which led me to grab this, and the only stupid thing was how long i waited to get around to watching it. a bit more effort and this could have been epic. where as ninja asian pretty much tapped out all the potential it ever could have had, ninja had a lot of potential... still pretty good though, dispite the cheese story.
which brings me toooo
undisputed 3. a second sequel. boo. stv franchise. boo.
... scott adkins... fuck yeah
another movie that totally fucking surprised me. story was suitably meh, dialog was ho-hum, some of the acting was blarrghh, but overall.. surprisingly enough, the film was really watchable to me... paced well, thoughtfully set out, and definately (for once!) helped by a very suitable runtime... and the fights... fucking great fights, with a likable hero (even if he is a fucking russian ) - actually i warmed up to all the characters eventually... cant believe i enjoyed it as much as i did.
also worth a note.. very surprised to see that crazy flippy fighting dude that was in tom yum goong... u remember... guy who fought our little thai friend in the burning church.. yeah, him.. his fights were damn cool too. if you like good fight choreography, i totally recommend this.
2 adkins fights.
ninja gets a 6.5/10 from me, and undisputed 3 gets a 7
pretty obviously im a scott adkins fan now. cant wait to see what hes in next, that guy is insane.
Despite Keanu Reeve's "Whoa." performance (), it is quite a good thriller that I've watched as a kid.
Although the plot isn't that superb either, the sense of action in that movie is extremely entertaining, it is definitely among my personal favorite action movies.
He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither

It's a well made action movie with a plot that doesn't take your mind too much off it. Die Hard was simple, bad guyts wants money, good guy in wrong place at right time etc...not that Im saying Speed is on par with Die Hard of course, but it is quite entertaining.
8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!

It's a pure 90s action flick. They don't make them like they used to, now it's all about superserious, super message-sending, super bullshit. And the ones that try to mimic the feel of old, like Die Hard 4, Shooter or Max Payne, fail hard.

And they didn't have super hot, yet super smart and kickass chicks, because back then they didn't fully know about the wonders of political correctness.
I am thinking more of "superhero youngsterz", which have to be put in every movie now (take a look at Transformers, Die Hard 4, etc). These make me hate this period the most. Used to be kids loved mature action stars, like Stallone, Schwarezenegger, Van Damme etc, now they love idiots like Shia LaBluff, Zachary Levi, Justin Long and their dumb teen love stories in the middle of action flicks to satisfy some giggling teens.
As for chicks, it's bullshit. Have you seen Aliens? Terminator? It works, with the right actresses. It doesn't work with Megan Fox, of course.
And Daniel Craig is a dramatic actor, not a big action star. His portrayal of Bond worked well in Casino Royale because it was a drama with action, as oppose to the nonsense that was Quantum of Solace, which failed miserably.
But in today's films, who isn't an action star? They can take anyone, slap some silly CGI and in 80 takes of split seconds, you have an sequence! To see how pathetic this is, just watch Prince of Persia. One jump is comprised of 70 split-second shots, because poor Jake is afraid to be strapped to wires.
Stathem is good, I like him, but yeah, there isn't a place for him anymore in A-list cinema. He is forced to do these B-grade flicks, because what else can he do? He can't play a super-dramatic role with action strapped on it, he can't play a comedic part (in leading role, anyway) so he is left doing these B-grade action flicks. But his Death Race was really well made, in my opinion.
He fitted perfectly well in lock stock and two smoking barrels and snatch. Would love to see more movies of this genre to be honest. And I hated crank 2. The first one was awesome, the second one felt like a michael bay sequel "MOAR EXPLOSIONS MOAR ACTION MOAR FART JOKES... less story... MORE TITTAYYSSSS"
Agree on both. Death Race was very enjoyable, and Crank 2 was a disappointment. Crank 1 was somewhat original but Crank 2 didn't seem to know how to top the originality so they just tried to top the silliness.
