@Leo I don't know about pc graphics cards but I know people who fixed their PS3's yellow light by heating it in oven.

Edit: I'm guessing the solders which connect gpu to mainboard go loose over time and heating them reconnects them to mainboard.

No, I don't think so. There's loads of videos and people on forums saying it works. When the cards are made they go through an oven. I'll find out once it has cooled down anyway. Laughing

Dam, didn't work. The card still ran though and put out a picture, but it was worse than before. I think I over cooked it, lol, the small speaker fell off and I melted the plastic around the fan connector.

Need a new card! I'm using an old 7600GT Sad

Hey, I only had it on 200°c, but it isn't a digital oven so it may have been higher. Why Numpty, the card would have just gone in the bin anyway. Smile

I cooked one of my kids 8800 here after it gave up with a lot of arifacts and crashes, and its been working in her machine since and that was 6months ago.

Scary, but thought what the hell give it ago, it was that or buy a new one, had read about it a few times, so saved myself a fair few quid, but i saw it this way, card didn't want to play ball in 3 machines tested, and after researching what others were saying the card was acting exactly the same, was genuinely shocked it actually worked.

So yeah it worked for me, but have heard it hasn't for others,,,

Are you sure the following isn't happening:

1. you put gfx card in over
2. gfx cards plastic pcbs and other components melt, producing toxic gas
3. as you open your oven, you breath in the shitty fumes
4. you roll around on the floor, hallucinating that its now a working card when in fact you're eating cat food off the floor, and raping a pile of melted plastic with your heavily cut up penis?

It works.

160° for 15-20 mins.

PCBs aren`t made out of "plastic" Rolling Eyes

You have to take of all parts possible before you do this oc.
There`s a huge thread in a german hardware forum about this with lots of success stories. most cards stop working again after some time...

Shame it failed Newty.
I guess the malfunctioning in these cases are caused by the repeated heating up and cooling down of the card but hmm this is weird.
So a non-functioning GPU in the oven, a malfunctioning HDD in the freezer, what's next? Very Happy

Idk if it is too hot but I did read that when the cards are made the parts are placed on the PCB and it then goes though an oven to melt the solder. Actually... someone said that ROHS (some kind of standard, not googling) solder melts at 220°c (?). It was worth a shot, I mean why not
