Narrows it down perfectly for me. The Assault rifle makes it bearable to go from choice to choice .
The movie just shows that they haven't bothered playing the game properly really, well sure the bugs exist obviously, which is a shame, but not unbearable.
But the rest is hands down bullshit, they obviously didn't bother playing the tutorials, i think they make a remark that "Luckily tutorials can be skipped", which is messed up, since it's obvious that they don't know the game mechanics at all.
They even go as far as to call shooting a "die roll", but had you bothered playing the tutorial you'd know that running and gunning (Hey conviction fags) is not part of the gameplay, but the shooting is definitely not just a die roll, you simply just have to be patient instead of just thinking you can gun through everything.
It's a Stealth game, not an action shooter like Conviction, maybe they got the genres mixed up when Ubisoft sold out to games that require an IQ over 50 to play?
I love playing as Albert Wesker. Just run in karate and blam blam.
This I had tons of points in Sabotage/Pistols/AR .. but my most enjoyed statistic was Martial Arts. On "Normal" the enemy can't seem to hit for shit, which gives me time to run right in and hand out some ass-whupping.

Whats wrong with rolling dies in a game governed by RPG mechanics? Thats just the nature of RPGs... i have the impression that 90% of the reviewers didnt get that. They treat it as a Gears of War style shooter. It seems they just run and gun without using any skills like chain shot etc etc.
Provided you skilled Stealth and use the stealth armor with a silenced pistol, this game is a really good, old school stealth game with predetermined guard paths etc etc.

This, sadly. Everyone is expecting a pure TPS (Oh it's got guns and a cover system!! it must be like Gears of Bore!!!) when it really, really isn't. I'm glad to see there are others who share my belief that this could well be the next Deus Ex .. and let's face it; it's more Deus Ex than Invisible War was.
Agreed. I'll be the LAST to say this game is flawless, so hopefully a few patches should clear up the technical - and gameplay - issues. There is one thing about the crosshair though; the higher your weapon skill and the better the weapon mods, the faster the crosshair shrinks back to default when shooting.
is there any real difference between choosing the recruit class then just choosing the other classes any real differneces in how the story progresses or anything special about the skills in the game?
I have a slightly trivial question about one of the perks... On one of the Taipei levels I noticed that I received a "Tough as Nails" perk..but second later I was run over by a train
So I didn't get a chance to see what it gave me, and more importantly - how did I get it. I wonder if anyone had it, and knows what's it about? It's not a big deal obviously, but I am just curious, since I didn't get it again on reload and I can't seem to find any info on it anywhere, which is odd.
A more important question though, does anyone know how the Stability weapon stat affects weapon control? What exactly does higher stability give me?
Still enjoying the game. I guess I am in luck since I don't have any technical issues, at least non I am aware of, so it's only the presentation that is sometimes lacking.
From what I noticed regarding the "Recruit" class.
Spoiler:
Can select "Veteran" on next playtrough once finished the game, didn't think you'd get the ability to specialize in any skill either but you do just that initially you have no skill points at all nor any points to spend as with the three other classes and the custom class choice where you assign points yourself.
Also allows some funny responses during the tutorial missions up to Saudi Arabia where you can select the recruit dialogue theme and it also gives the "Green" or "Greenhorn" perk or what it was called which added a little bonus to your stats, think it was endurance but don't remember right now.
Same for Veteran but all basic skills are fully maxed out until you specialize and unlock the later tier ones or level up and unlock some more advanced stuff and you can choose the Veteran style of talk during the tutorial mission though I'm only just about to started at that playtrough.
EDIT: To the above post, those are the custom ability perks unlocked from doing various things, in that particular case it's getting hit for a total of 1000 damage and survive (Via healing and over time of course.) and the more advanced is to get hit for 5000 points of damage.
(There are numerous ones, all posted previously from the INI files, not covering mission and path specific perks like handler bonuses, letting someone live or die and such.)
(For a really basic one shoot the sound generator device at someones groin or head a few times.)

Without loading up my 360 to check, I'm PRETTY sure the "tough as nails" perk is surviving 1000 damage without dying. As for Stability, it's the size of the crosshair - and how fast it returns to normal size during firing.
Thanks for the answers. I've collected a few useful perks already.
This game has one of the better implementations of the challenges/achievements systems - they actually give meaningful bonuses, which, I think, is how it should have been done in games from the start.
Finally there's the trainer that disables that dumb timer for hacking. Not a perfect solution, I'd prefer disable all those boring mini-games altogether, but still better than nothing.
Still getting the weird random slowdowns. Tried all sorts of combinations of smooth framerate/mouse, different limits for the framerate, nothing works. Funny thing is, if I disable framerate smoothing and vsync, the game runs on 80+ FPS for the most part. Indoors with limited view it does 200 FPS without a problem, but it still drops to 20ish FPS. Never had this with UT3, nor other UE3 based games.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with it, it's just not the case, the spread is probably a die roll, but you can still compensate for spread by playing the game properly.
would be no point if it was just "point and shoot", then you could just go mad with the pistol, never having to take stealth into account, a guaranteed shot means that you used stealth to your advantage, meaning you actually played the game as you should be playing it.
Guess Stealth games, by console standards will now be, run from cover to cover, assasinate 1 person with melee to assassinate 2-5 targets instantly, rinse and repeat.
