Most games these days are very expensive, budgets comparable to Hollywood movies are not unusual. Its not just programmers and voicetalents. Ever watched the credits of a game recently? There's hundreds of people working on a title, they need to be paid. They hire entire studios and actors for the mocap stuff. That shit is expensive as hell. And then you have marketing and worldwide marketing campaigns.
still doesn't come anywhere near 100m buddy 30m I can live with
shenmue had a 70m budget and is nowhere near GTA4 or RDR in size/length...why? extensive mocap and voiceovers, that's why. that stuff was even more expensive back then.
besides, the budget is simply what a studio gets from the publisher - doesn't mean they have to spend all of it on the game. there's this thing called "profit", you know

Nobody cares about your imaginary numbers you can live with. Fact is a fact.
Has there been any serious talk from Rockstar Games about a possible Pc version?
No, but there was a real magazine that listed RDR as shipping for: 360, PS3, PC.
Could have been a typo, but the exact same thing did happen with another magazine concerning Gears of War 1, and sure enough that game did end up on PC.
Plus I believe RDR uses the GTA4 engine which has ALREADY been ported to PC, so a PC port shouldn't be hard to implement. And based on Rockstar's track record with GTA4 and Liberty City Episodes, they prefer making money on 3 platforms versus only 2 platforms.
This game looks f%&king awesome. Still playing and loving GTA IV, the idea of the same engine and storytelling in a Gun style universe is just orgasmic beyond comprehension, and the more I hear about it the more it sounds like they've achieved it.
Here's hoping the Rockstar gods have only delayed us and not forgotten us entirely.

I honestly couldn't agree more! Dude, if you've got a 360 ... try it! This is GTA IV + infinity.
I don't have a 360, or any console at all. I'm a dedicated PC gamer. I just don't rate controllers for anything other than driving or sports, for me it ruins the experience.
I'll wait patiently by as I did with GTA IV. It was well worth the wait, I'm sure this one will be too.

Yup, aside from the movement, camera angle and shooting, it's a completely different atmosphere and setting... It's not similar to Grand Theft Auto 4 at all in my opinion, this one is better to be honest. But they're different so you can't really compare the two.
It's a good game, but come on people. Nothing you haven't played/seen after playing GTA4.
Really? I don't recall there being any horses or cowboys in GTA4, nor do I remember a wild west setting
It plays the same And it's equally good
cars => horses
city => wild west
Different means but it all comes down to chasing other cars(horses), shoot-outs, taking cover, shooting lots of enemies, vigilante missions etc.

Well, I've been watching darksydephil's playthrough of it (yes, he's a fucking idiot and console , but sometimes his comments are *somewhat* funny), and as far as I can see it does play different than GTA 4. A lot more stuff to do too.
