Really ? because I waas getting bronze and silver points and didn't know what to do with them, so I just unlocked even stuff I didn't use after a while. Because I had already maxed the ones I used.

Yeah.. I just loaded up my save game right before the fight with Aldesburg (end). Level 37, and there are about 75 empty skills I never got. Bronze, silver, and gold. I'm not sure how many skill points I have though because there are no meditation places nearby. I believe this playthrough was on hard mode if that makes a difference.

=) I think I've played through this beast 4 times now. I think a 5th time it would get old.
No other RPG has been as replayable for me as the Witcher, besides Baldur's Gate 2.

I only hope the second one has the same dubious moral system and that decisions made at the start effect the end.

Excellent. Although I have a PS3 too, but games like these belong on PC.

I think Projekt CD are the only smart ones left with no overly greedy intentions, they realize that on PC ONLY good work pays off, pew pew games are thrown into the gutter, and I am damn glad they do and hope people will reward them for their effort.

Following that idea, than we should also buy Operation Arrowhead and ARMA II. After all they are pure PC and don't have any console port.
I'm playing The Witcher, and it's a good game indeed. I'll buy the platinum edition coming this month and of course I'll wait for Witcher 2.

also mw is a massive game with aaa production values AND the marketing experience that came with it, not to mention its a multiplayer fps... so its not really surprising it sold so well, dispite being far from flawless.
also i think you have to be careful saying projekt red doesnt have greedy intentions... i dont think you know that. i have faith that for now their 'intentions' and their 'quality' go hand in hand, but all developers eventually become greedy and more focused on profit than quality or fans. give it time, and theyll be no different than anyone else... but for now, they can have my money....
its not like they havent already stressed their intention to branch out to consoles... not that i blame them, its THE gaming market afterall, and a developer would be stupid to ignore it... they tried to port witcher, it fell through, but i suspect that we'll see a witcher game on consoles before long.
the test will be if they drop pc as a focus (and give us ports instead), or if at the very least they can maintain their integrity... i know enough to NOT automatically assume that they will...
how many devs have started on the pc, claiming that they love us and love pc gaming, only to jump ship to consoles after us loyal gamers have 'served our purpose' by giving them their desired recognition and prosperity?
i loved witcher, and ill BUY witcher 2, but im incredibly weary about proclaiming projekt red champions of pc gaming or anything... not yet, anyway. if theyre still around in 10 years, showing us the love, then sure.
side-note: all these witcher re-releases is getting a bit george lucas'y isnt it? platinum edition now? whats that, the 4th or 5th release?

It won't bring anything really new. But it's harmless. You just buy if you want it. In my case I don't have it, so it's a good opportunity to buy it now.
Sometimes the greedy problem don't come from the developers itself, but from the publishers who really just think in shareholders meetings. Namco Bandai it's ATARI. I don't trust ATARI.

Well on one of the presentations in Poland game designer was playing with the 360 pad. So I think it's just timely exclusive for PC and the are planning on console realese later. But that means game is designed for PC and ported to console and that's good enough for me

I can't possibly imagine howl the developers are going to make a complex RPG interface workable on a joypad. Probably a complete redesign. First console game to require a keyboard, perhaps?

Anyone that's playing The Witcher again should use this texture pack.
More than 3000 texture's are redone Game looks really great with it.
You might need a good vid card tho, as on my old 3870x2 it didn't run good at all.
Link to Fileplanet for those that want to download as one file instead of the eight from rapidshare.

Whilst I can understand the appeal, I personally despise all these "Improved texture packs." Some poor sod's just gone and thrown every material in the game through the Photoshop sharpen filter. There's a reason my art lead disallows people from touching the sharpen filter. It reminds me of a CSS texture pack that was once released, the author just took the original vtf's, upscaled them and then sharpened, marketing them as "double the resolution." Also to double his fail all textures are squared, i.e. 512X512, so he'd actually quadrupled the resolution.
