killing imagination is good instead?
Game showing everything (GFX) are not so imagination stimulation you know ?
And RPG comes from Role Playing... i don't need to have good GFX as long rest is ok. Look KOTOR serie... was not GFX oriented. And this is not going to be pewpew game anyways.

stop ragging on the visual aspect of games. theyre as important as a good story or good gameplay, because it adds to the immersion and enjoyment of the game.
im not saying that its the MOST important thing, but i believe its AS important as the other 'pieces'... a game is for interactive enjoyment... its not a book... if the thing doesnt look attractive, enticing, and visually stimulating (through design and visual quality), especially in comparison with what we KNOW other games can achieve, then this is a BAD thing.
so all im saying is that story, gameplay, characters and all the rest are important, but dont downplay or piss on the importance of good visuals in games, because they ARE important too.
all this is just general comments on gaming visuals, but in relation to THIS game... graphics look dated, which IS a bit of a letdown, but they arent THAT bad for it to be a dealbreaker for me, so im looking forward to it - just imagine how much BETTER it could have been if the graphics were high-end quality though, is all im saying i guess...

So, I speak spanish and this review makes me think a lot of Deus Ex actually, it seems it even has the same crappy AI.
That was one of the low points of the review, they basically said: The enemy are retards and fuck up the shooting and stealth sections of the game.
However, I'm pretty sure it will be a cool game with enormous replay value.

If nothing else and if that's correct then the X360 version should leak any time now.
(PC could take time due to the activation based DRM, not that it's restrictive or anything and I don't know much about it however but it was used in some football management game previously and seems to have been troublesome there apparently, to crack that is.)

I saw on another forum that some guy had read another review (magazine as well I think), The score for that was 87. The reviewer felt that it would've been a 90+ game if the graphics and animations had been a bit better. Seemed to really enjoy the game other than that, said that the story is really great.

Irrespective of graphical quality, I'm really looking forward to this! A proper espionage RPG? Definitely looks like it could be a blast =)

I just hope character customization is available in the game... The default main character looks more like underwear model than international super spy...

"All in all, I have to say I'm impressed with what I've seen of Alpha Protocol. The gunplay looks incredibly fun, and the character customization options offer impressive depth. There's a real sense of consequence to the choices players make, whether through in-game actions or dialogue sequences. An attractive world of espionage, coupled with Obsidian's attention to detail, have put Alpha Protocol on the shortlist of games I really want this holiday season."

The character customization refers to the skills of your character, not the appearance. You can add some beards, change skin tone slightly, change the hairdo around but you can't change the shape of the face and all that.

Also, I only just learned(ya,I'm sometimes slow to catch on) that during the year this was delayed, nothing has been done to it due to budget restrictions. |
Eh where'd you see that? Seeing as it was delayed because of (at least according to the publisher) some gameplay issues, just delaying without actually doing anything doesn't sound particularly smart.

Don't worry, it's not a new delay. They're just talking about the initial reason for the December 09 delay =)
HOPEFULLY we should still see it June 1st.

Quote: | Press Release
SEGA is very pleased to announce today that Obsidians's espionage RPG "Alpha Protocol" has gone gold and is headed off to manufacturing. Alpha Protocol is scheduled for release on June 1 in North America and in Europe on May 28 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
Alpha Protocol unites role-playing, stealth, and action gameplay into a single experience that captures what it feels like to operate as a modern day spy. With production values on par with a blockbuster action movie, the consequences of the player's actions in the high stakes underworld of arms dealing can be explosive. Perhaps unleashing on suspected terrorists with the Pentagon's latest weaponry is the best move... or maybe just stay in the shadows and stay cryptic in your interactions. There isn't a single correct approach.
Alpha Protocol ups the stakes in the RPG genre with the integration of the innovative Dynamic Stance System (DSS), dialogue tech that allows the player to pick a 'stance' instead of a direct answer. Players need to think on their feet, because in Alpha Protocol a key weapon IS choice – and every decision not only shapes your relationships with in-game characters, but it changes the entire world around you.

I'm not sure where the rumor that nothing was done on the game during the delay came from, but it's not true. I don't think it's the reason they delayed it (I think the game is in a much better spot now from a business standpoint as they say), but they have squashed bugs, improved the lighting and added a comparison UI (for when you buy weapons and such). Those are the things I can remember mentioned.

That's a sweet concept for a trailer. The music trailer is both the worst thing ever and the best thing ever. Kinda fits the whole Bond spy thing though somehow, heh.
STEAM seems to have the game listed for May 27th. Ah well, I hope my boxed copy ships at 28th like they say.

I didn't follow this game at all so I have a question, is it open world or consisting of missions?

It's mission-based.
The setup seems to be like this: The game starts in the Saudi Arabia hub which you have to finish first. After that, you're free to travel to Taipei, Rome or Moscow in whatever order you wish. In each hub you have a safehouse where you can answer e-mails, buy equipment via the computer and interact with your mission handlers.
Then you take missions (which can range from your standard combat missions to simply talking to certain people) in whatever order you wish. Apparently the game will be very reactive what missions you've done before and so forth.
That's the impression I've gotten as to how it works.
