i ended up winning liars dice after like 4 defeats. Tutorials didnt help me shit, and i bet its like that for every mini game. I ended up having to understand this game on my own which i eventually did. Well, not completely, but most of it.

Liar's dice is pretty fun. Can't comment on the tutorial though as I knew the rules beforehand, but generally they could all be better. The AI is pretty dumb, so once you get the hang of it it's easy money. And there's an achievement for winning a game without losing a single die. Of course easiest to achieve when there's only two of you playing.
I like poker best though as I play some IRL and am really looking forward to going to Blackwater, where the high stakes are.

do you ever get to use the cash you save up? every say house i buy is dirt cheap and i got over 2k just by doing random stuff. Would be cool to get to buy a whole ranch or a big house and not just some small rooms.

I can play poker, it's really not hard. It would actually be fun if whatever algorithm they used for the AI players wasn't as predictable as it is. Liar's dice though... man I can't fucking understand it. I watched the tutorial and it went right the fuck over my head.
Is there anyone that can explain it quickly in laymans terms?

Liars Dice Tutorial
The key however is to learn the players you play against. Usually you'll play against 2 opponents; one will lie often and the other will be honest. That's how you get them, exploiting their character.
You also need logic, for ex:
-You're playing against one guy. You are down to 4 dice, and he's down to 2 dice.
-The round starts, and you both roll the dices. Out of your 4 dices 2 of them rolled [.:], one [:.:], and one [: ]
-You'll bet that there are 2 dices of [.:] on the table. The opponent will say that there are actually 5 dices of [.:] on the table.
-Logically that can't be, as you only have 2 of [.:] and he only has 2 dices, even if all of them rolled [.:], there are only 4 dice of [.:]. That's a when you call "bluff", coz he's obviously lying.
Hope I made some sense, and that it helps you or at least gives you an idea of how the game works.

I'll give it a shot.
Let's say there are 3 players. That's makes a total of 15 dice.
The very first bet is always yours (as with poker, where you deal first). The object is to bet how many of a certain side there are in the total of 15 dice. Let's say you have 1-2-3-3-4. You can for instance bet 2 3's, as you know there are at least 2 of those. Probably more, as one of the remaining 10, according to the laws of random(), is bound to be be a 3 as well.
Of course you can bet anything you'd like. You can bet 15 3's if you want.
Now the next guy has 3 options. Let's start with him betting. He has to place a higher bid than yours. Higher in this case means more number of dice than you, or the same number of dice but a higher value. Some examples to illustrate:
You bet 1 3's. The next guy has to bet at least 1 4's. He can also bet 1 5's, 1 6's and 2..n of any value.
If he bets 4 6's, the next guy has to bet at least 5 of something, as 4 of anything isn't possible (there's nothing higher than 6).
This betting goes on until someone chooses to either call a bluff or bet spot-on.
Calling a bluff means you're saying that bet is false. If someone bets 4 5's and there's only 3, that means the bet was a 'lie'. The guy placing that bet loses a die. If there are 4 (or more) 5's, the guy calling the bluff loses one die.
Spot-on means you say that the last bet is exactly right ("spot-on"). If you had bet spot-on the 4 5's and there had been exactly 4 5's, then every other player at the table loses one die each. If there's anything else but 4 5's, you lose a die.
The next round is started by whomever lost the last round.
Also remember that the number of dice get smaller each round, so what may seem as a reasonable bet the first round may not even be possible 10 rounds later.
I hope this, at least somewhat, clears things up.

thank you both, that does bring it into perspective at least and i also watched a video on youtube. something i'm still confused about is say someone bets there are three 3's. so the next bet has to be higher. higher would be 4 or higher of the same dice. so four, five, or six 3's right?
in that same scenario would ONE 4 be acceptable also? what about five 1's - the dice is a lower value but the number of them is higher. that's kind of what i'm still confused about. if you use a lower dice does the number of dice x the value of the face have to be greater than 9, which would be the total of the original bet (3 x 3 = 9) or is it as simple as the number of dice or value of face has to be higher and the sum of the dice is irrelevant?
the rest of it i'll get the hang of as i play.

The next guy as to bet at least the same number of dice. 3 3's means the next guy can bet 3 4's, 3 5's, 3 6's or 4..n of anything 1-6.
So just 1 4 isn't allowed, but 5 1's is. The "lower value, 3x3 stuff" isn't a rule. If someone bets 4 6's, you're free to bet 5 1's. 4 1's isn't okay though, as 1 ls lower is than 6 and if you bet on the same number of dice, the value of the die itself must be higher.
This of course means that follow a 4 1's bid with 4 6's is okay.

ok... i think i got it. still a little fucking confusing with all those damn numbers and shit but i think once i start messing around with my newfound understanding i should be able to piece it together. i was absolutely clueless before. thanks again!
on the subject of shooting npc's - there is a "holy roller" out in the desert that kept on about god this and god that. i tied her ass up and did mean things to her. wish i had drug her around behind the horse now hehe. ooh speaking of dragging people behind your horse - wtf is up with the guys that ride through armadillo shooting their guns in the air and dragging people behind them? i figured they were outlaws so i started shooting them and the law jumped all over my ass.

Those are outlaws, you must have shot some of the townsfolk when you gunned those outlaws. The law never came after me when I shot those outlaw guys.

anybody wish they could just revert back to dead eye level 1?
Wish there was a switch or something, I liked it way more than the others.
*edit*
apparently there is a cheat from the social club that lets you revert back to level 1, can't find any solid info on this however, anyone know about this?

Honestly, it's because dead eye level 2 and 3 just seem too easy to me, like there's no challenge. I liked in level one where you could aim the gun (look down the sight if you will... and fire at will), Level 2 and 3 you "paint" targets and then John just fired a shitload of shots from the hip. It looked much cooler aiming down the sight and firing, rather then painting targets and then firing quickly from the hip.
Either way, it's really not a big thing for me, but I really enjoyed dead eye level 1 much more than the other two. I'm just being picky is all...

Level 1 is just slomo, you don't have to paint enemies when you activate dead eye. A lot of times I used just that, especially in conjunction with the sniper rifle.
