Stupid bullshit. Most of the time the soldiers just stay around for weeks. And then a sniper kills them from far away or they drive over a mine with their vehicles and die.
This is just "hollywood" for the younger soldiers to feel like action heroes. At the end, you can do whatever you want (it's like paintball), you won't get hurt.
