No need to be rude. (maybe you are just a troll?)
The publisher calls it "US-version" for a reason, they must have done a market research and must have concluded that the majority of their target group for their game in the US like it colorful. Surely they wouldn't invest money and time in such a version if it doesn't pay off?

luckily you can switch between the settings on the fly. I prefer the us version. The eu setting looks really bland.

Ah man. That video made me sad. It looks a lot like Gothic 3. Combat system = clickclickclickclick
If i want to do that I'll play Diablo. Risen was more like Gothic 2 which I enjoyed for the most part.

Was it just me, or did it seem as though there wasn't A SINGLE THING TO PICK UP....
No plants, no food......nothing to interact with but NPC's? Shit video, hopefully not NEAR completion, or I won't even bother....and that will be sad, having come from G1

That actually has nothing to do with US/EU versions in mostly all games. Most of the time EU versions have variations in content allot of things like in Germany are banned from games so EU versions are made with less offensive content sometimes so they won't be banned in these EU countries also EU games usually have extra languages while US versions only have English mostly adding extra languages can be the difference of gigs if the game has voice acting so releasing a game in the US with 20 different languages would be rather silly and useless.
It does not have anything to do with "surveys" or what ever the hell you are talking about.

Because of laws that don't allow kids to buy games/movies with nudity in the US. So they could have left it uncensored but lost out on millions from lil kids buying it for xbox and like 2 days after release there was a patch that uncensored the game.
Take crysis for example they had to remove ragdolls and blood/body bullet holes from every version of the game even the non EU because of laws in Germany against that. They even went so far as to go after modders who made custom ragdoll and bullet hole mods.
Facts & figures on obesity: Obesity is one the major health challenges worldwide and has become an epidemic over the last decades. Europe has the highest number of overweight and obese people in the world. The number of obese people has in fact tripled over the last 20 years in the Europe, according to the WHO. Today, over 130 million people are obese in Europe; approximately 10%-20% of men and 15%-25% of women. In addition, 400 million people are overweight in Europe.

What is your point? It is nudity and swearing in games in the US usually lead to an M rating so only people who are over 18 can buy it they simply did it to make more money because they know allot of kids wouldn't be able to buy the game in the US the EU isn't as strict in this area. It isn't like they took a survey and people in the US decided they didn't want nudity and foul language.
Besides a few cuss words and seeing tits didn't change the game in any way, it had a crappy combat system and linear story tits and the f word wouldn't have made it any better.

great to see something in german first...however his bavarian accent is gay...lol
-you are working as a shepherd but will become the hero due to some reasons
-game starts on a tutorial island
-they expect it to be bug free and done right in time for the 3rd quarter
-fighting system is like fable 2's. You can do combos by hitting at the right time... the weapon will light up for a second so you know the right moment.
-you can learn spells - giving innos points will train fire balls - and later on inferno with Damage over time effects.
-there are small dungeons on the tutorial islands...but there will be very big ones later in the game.
-various quests like get a dagger from a cave, hunt a certain number of an animal, kill a goblin etc.
-there will be even more quests if your standing with the different factions.
-targeting will become better by training "hunter" feature.
-they are balancing the game and are working on the interface.
-arcania will be a parallel development between consoles and pc - no port!
-3rd quarter 2010 is the release date
-jump from pc to console could work out!
-gameplay seems to be from xbox360 version ? (see red button is A)
if the gameplay is from the console version it could finally be a good RPG for the xbox. DAO and Risen were both ports and looked very bad on consoles... would really love to play a good rpg on my xbox.

Myself im quite relieved for the gameplay being from a console, because it seemed horrid and with a very bad framerate and bad animations. I hope Gothic 4 for the PC to be a lot better than this, especially if its being done from scratch, and not just portedt.
Anyway liked the armours and helmets styles.

These two worries me.
While timing based combat can work - if there is enough options for preparation, buffing and stuff like that - Fable 2 one button combat isn't much to write home about. Sounds like it won't hold a candle against the old Gothics or even against Risen in this regard. Also, combat in the vids looks bland, at best. You can always hope it will turn out ok, but I have my doubts.
Also, if fed ex and shitty mmo style "kill x number of monster y" quests are the first types they can think of when trying to sell the game, quest design doesn't really sound like a strong point of theirs.
Sure, it's nice if it will be bug free, but a turd doesn't become less of a turd just because there aren't any flies buzzing about around it. I started following this game with an open mind, I'm feeling more and more doubt about the devs capability to make it into something good though. I really, really hope they'll say or show something that makes me change my mind, it's not like the world is overburdened with new awesome RPGs.

No, but well done for knowing the word synonym. |
Apparently not, because this is the PC section of the forums...
