I'm interested to know, those of you that are old enough to be working properly, what kind of payrise did you get (if any?)

I work for a FTSE 100 company and my payrise is going to be about 2% i think, with a maximum of 3.5% - these numbers are pretty crappy imo.

What about you?

Well since I'm a self employed business man, I decide my own payrise no matter if I make any money or not. I also buy a new car every half year or so depending on mood, I can also lift a car after minimum amount of workout.

Cool Face

no payrise to me I'm afraid.

Fuck me. What kinda job is that? 10% is crazy. Even in good times 2% or so is considered 'good' here.

Syco, yeh on salary not hourly.

Last year I didn't get a pay rise, and this year I am getting well below inflation. It's a bitch cos i'm basically getting pay cuts year on year!

oooo, I hate salary pay man. In theory it sounds good, but I prefer hourly. I could go salary but the amount of money I make working overtime and double time on weekends...well, its not worth it for me to go salary.

Tho we are in different industries. I take it salary is the standard in yours eh?

$270 bucks a month Stealth?

Are you a student or live with your parents (not making fun of you if you do)?

If you live on your own, how to do live in $270 a month man? Again, I'm not making fun of you at all...I won't make fun of anyone for the pay they get for the work they do.
But I don't see how you can live on $270 a month

Syco - it's pretty standard in my industry, although lots do private consultancy for like £200-400 - but thats all to come in my career I hope Smile

madnessnaab - 10% cut? Ouch. Does that take into consideration inflation also?

My company is only doing a 0.5% cost of living adjustment along with a 2.25% performance bonus for most employees. COLA in the past has been closer to 2% but "in these harsh economic times... blah blah blah etc..." Also some employees get a yearly cash bonus at the end of the fiscal year as well (ours just ended March 31st but they haven't actually done the raises/bonuses yet) ... got $1500 last year so hoping for the same.

I dunno how you guys do it.

Work all day on the comp then come home and play some vids or talk to ppl over the comp.

I can only be on the comp for at the most 3 hours then I have to take a break and watch some tv, go for a walk, do something else. My eyes get tired as fuck. Like right now. I came on to make a few posts and its turn into a 2 hour affair lol And its almost Noon...I need to go make something to eat....starving.

Ha well i do all my internet browsing while at work. Obviously with my job, the fair bit of internet browsing I do is to be expected. Of an evening, I generally don't go on the computer. At the weekend, I don't either (not as much anyway).

But I know what you mean about getting tired of looking at screens - some of us don't have a choice though Smile

BTW Syco I'm going to Canada in August - but going to the other side!

Congratulations matey.

There is a saying in my language which translates to: 'may the god let you both age on the same pillow. (means: I hope you never get a divorce and be happy)

This actually can be interpreted as 'hope you have a poor life so you will never be able to buy second pillow' by cpt subtext hermeneutics fans but it's intention is the opposite wishes.

Amen. Overcharging employers over the weekend ftw Smile They love my results so they don't complain. Don't know how I could live with a salary. Oh and 10+% this year, but I am a kid so it's not like I get paid a lot in the first place.

Not counting my side business here Smile That's 50%+ woooooo.

I'm salaried but the concept of overtime doesn't even exist at my work, just put in the required 36.25 hours a week and that's it. Kinda sucks that I can't put in some extra hours when I want a bit more cash though Sad

I'm still a (non working) student, anyway according to the OSCE chart (2008) salaries in Italy are among the lowest in Europe: 19.861 USD per year. The country has also one of the highest cost of living in the old Continent.
I think there's nothing to add Sad
