Same here. Only got it working when in the main menu I chose friends and accepted an invite.
That's the only way I don't get the "server unavailable" error.

I have found that if I turn off Anisotropic filtering I get a major fps boost. Seems to be the only option that actually makes any difference to fps for me.

I've played all the previous Splinter Cell games and the series has been amongst my favourites (with the exception of the god awful next Gen version of Double Agent) so it surprised me that I have quite enjoyed Conviction.

This game needs a ingame chat function. Alot of people are inviting me to play, but Im already ingame with a friend. The game feels unfished gameplay and functionality wise.

Well, I played all day and I must say the game is good. The only catch is that you must make your own rules if you want to have fun:
-Restart checkpoint if you get caught
-Don't use auto-killall-button
-Only use silenced pistols
It would've been better imho if the game enforced these rules... but as it is, you can easily fix it by following them by yourself.
PS: The iraq mission sucked -_-

You can't that way.
You have to edit skidrow.ini back to skidrow profile.

Just as in the previous games there are several places for advertisements and they might even be dynamic. (Like with say Far Cry 2 first having blank placeholder billboards which now display hamburger ads or the "Axe" ads in Double Agent or brands of phones and similar "manly" accessories, Cisco is also shown and even promoted in the manual.)

Am I the only one who cant manage to get the mp working? I copied the Skidrow mp crack, edited the .ini file with my real account ( I kept the " at both ends) and it still says it cant connect to Ubisoft servers. What am I doing wrong?

Thats my hosts file:
Spoiler: | # Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.

You need to delete those ubi entries or add "#" in front of the lines.
Otherwise you won't be able to play multiplayer (because you can't connect to servers)
When you do it, open cmd and type "ipconfig /flushdns"
