That game looks AWESOME. At first, i thought it was some small-ass game being developed by rockstar in the meantime. That's why i didn't keep myself that posted (or to say the truth no posted at all) about that title. But after having watched the life in the west featurette videos on gametrailers, it made my jaw fall off to the toes of my feet. And i'm not that easily impressed when it comes to innovations, fresh features and all 'new' stuff a ready-to-come-out-of-the-corner game has to offer. I REALLY hope, that it turns out even better than what i've seen in the videos. Or at least positively said as equally good. If it ever sees the light of day on pc it's a 0-day purchase for me. As of now i'm impatiently anticipating the day this game gets officially announced on the pc and optimistically it follows the gta-known schedule and that's around christmas time.

as far as i remember every gta have been exclusive to a certain platform, but ended up on every platform sooner or later so there is no reason to believe this will be any different.

Couple of problems with that:
- this isn't GTA.
- the first game never saw a PC release.
I hope that there will be a PC release, but I wont consider it a given until Rockstar makes the announcement.

The first arguemnt is invalid. Bully, Manhunts, GTALCS. All came out eventually, in spite of them being console exclusives for a while. Only some of their titles seem to remain console exclusives.
The second one is more valid, but I don't see that as much of an obstacle. AFAIK that game was just a shooter with the traditional stage-progression (only saw a few videos on YT). This Redemption is such an overhaul that it can be considered a whole new game.
Never the less, I'll get this for xbox on release day.

Well, there are NO announcements of a PC version out, or even a hint of a possibility. Thus this thread doesn't belong in the PC Games section. Same with Alan Wake.

I just do not understand why developers try and bypass the pc market.

It will come to PC, just later down the line, GTA IV came to PC 8 months after the console releases.
Rockstar do this with most of their titles.

Heck, even Bully and Manhunt 2 came out eventually, and they were console exclusives for a very long time.
This is such a big-buget/vell-advertised game that it will come out on the PC. Until they outright deny the possibility of it comming out, it will come out. If they are just silent about it...their silence says more than nothing.

but you cant forget that first time we saw bully in 2006 on PS2 and had to wait 2 years to see it on PC so yeah!

It's not the developers entirely. It's mostly the publishers and the contracts they have with Micro$oft. M$'s contracts don't affect just the PC, they also affect the PS3.
Nintendo and Sony got all the rights in the world to exist on the console market. Micro$oft is the devil. They knew best what they are doing and were tired with don't getting extra money for games on the PC. So they invented a PC System, packed it in a Box and there you go. After that they bought promising PC Blockbusters/ Franchises like Halo (Bungie) and such.
M$ just wants that every PC gamer buys an 360 too....
Oh man, I could keep talking about that subject on and on and on and on and on....
But I have to admit, if it comes to profits, it was an genius idea. They're holding down the PC market while they're pushing their console crap.

This is generally true, for Microsoft it isn't about keeping the pc market down, thats a sad byproduct - collateral damage if you will.
The pc market has been 'conquered' by Microsoft, once Microsoft had most game developers using the DirectX api the pc market was wrapped up and they stopped paid incentives for game development using DirectX as it was now the standard. Instead they began paid incentives and exclusivity deals for the Xbox, this is done to 'establish the market'.
Microsoft have done everything they can to make using an X-Box and spending money on it an easy and accessible experience and they have succeeded both in luring in developers but also on getting users to spend money on DownLoadable Content, something which wasn't even imaginable in the "old" Windows days.
Microsoft doesn't 'hate' the pc platform, they're the largest supplier of operating systems for that platform, they just already have the market share and since the pc has become such a widespread platform they can't require royalties if you want to develop for it and make money on it as the world would be in an uproar - at this time.
On the X-Box however they can require money off of developers who want to publish their games on that platform, since Microsoft owns the hardware and are the sole vendor and supplier of it, this makes it the more feasable platform for Microsoft when considering games. As they end up with a larger piece of the cut from a 360 game than from a PC/Windows game.
In the end it comes down to 'simple' mathematics and market economics  |

I'm not in the choir of fanboys if thats what you mean. But yes I do own a console and have since 1989, owned more than one. You will probably see a review of RDR in one of the coming days here from me.
If you read my former post I also think it's clear I'm not singing high praises. |

I wonder, did you post a review of Alan Wake in their section? It seems, anyone who doesn't follow the flock and LOVE their game, is a PC fanboy who is raging because it's not on PC.
