I just looked at the CHD's nfo. It says that the average QPs were I:19, P:20 and B:21.
If you don't know what this means but care for quality, trust me and don't waste your time downloading anything smaller. Although I didn't compare it to other rips, based on this nfo I'd bet money that any 8 Mbit rips need to blur a lot of detail to prevent blocking.
If you have a slow connection or download limits, don't bother with small releases. They're just a waste of resources.
EDIT: I mean the CHD 1080p transcode at ~20 GB, not the untouched version.

kinda late ripping on the story arent you?
besides, its all full of shit. avatar didnt rip off pocahontas... fuck no, always pissed me off how far off the mark those people are. if you paid any attention youd know its a ripoff of monsters inc.
big blue dude named sulley (first name starts with J obviously), works for a company that exploits another 'worlds' resources, falls in love with a girl from that world, and his ideals change until he and his friend eventually getting banished/imprisoned when the betrayal is discovered. he escapes and begins his fight against the company in order to protect the girl, eventually managing to bring the company down. He also does battle with a violent enforcer seeking to use power and control to dominate the other world to get what the company wants.

I saw the movie last night... and I must say i´m rather dissapointed, effects and scenes are awesome blabllablal, but you guys were right, the story is such a crap.
It´s like playing Crysis with Alien Vs Predator (2010) gameplay.

Yeah but I think this was more of a "tech demo" of what's to come in the future of movie making. Dunno, maybe. Still a cool flick.
Anyways, in the beginning do the Na'vi know that there are humans controlling those bodies? I mean they have 5 fingers and the Na'vi have 4. They wear clothing and the Na'vi have tribal outfits. I think it would be obvious there is something going on.

I watch the Amiable 1080p version last night and it was fantastic. Only problem is that the nfo says Subtitles English Forced but there were no subtitles during the Navi language parts. What's up with that? Anyone else run into this?

the subs were probably in the mkv but the flag wasnt set to default so you have to enable them manually.
go check the file and see if theyre there.

ive heard of flawless. thats because i hang out in the rough part of town where pirates have two wooden legs and their parrots are fucking tigers.
theyre your usual p2p group, i know them mostly for stealing other groups 720 rips and releasing them as 2ish gb 'brrips'... they sometimes do r5s/dvdscrs n shit... i dont mind picking up their small releases, but i dont think id trust em enough for a 1080.

So i got the wiki 720p release and it got 2 languages: english and chinese. Chinese subtitles got subs when navi speaks, but not english 0.o I tried getting another player to see if i got different results, but now i get "<font color=" wtf

check the mkv and see how many sub options there are. wiki are usually reliable, i doubt theyd only have forced chinese subs...?
edit: yeah eng/chinny subs listed, so should be good? like i said, check the file, and see whats listed.

Is marking in ASS and SSA type subtitles. What do you use for displaying the subtitles? Perhaps what you use is not fully capable of displaying ASS and SSA subtitles.
