Hm, so the skidrow crack is better and easier to apply.
They stole the values, but for all we know the cracking process is theirs. Chill out, everyone.

Well, there is nothing to crack in the first place. This DRM works like a MMO server. Meaning it can only be bypass through emulation.

They made all in one dll copy paste but the hardest work is to collect values.Still i think emu server solution is better.

It doesn't work great in all conditions.
What if I am a college student working with Visual Studio and SQL server, should I uninstall them just to play Assassin's Creed 2? Server emu doesn't work if there are another servers active on the machine.

The emulator works with VS and SQL server installed and started. It fails to start only when IIS is started. You can stop the service while playing, and it works just fine.

Not on my buddie's machine. He actually tried all the methods (including trafic analyze with NetLimiter) and at the end, he finished up installing another Windows on an empty partition just to play the game...

i dont think its about the easiness in which u can play the game...ie with server emu it take a bit of work (modify hosts, run server etc) whereas with skidrow its just one file...i think the point is that they call themselves hardcore whatever and yet they stole all the hard work from some1 else and named it their own...u shouldnt only look @ a tree cuz u gonna mis the whole f**in forest...

Wrong, Ubisoft said if the servers would close one day, that a patch would be released to remove the DRM.

Other way around. Skidrow crack doesn't save some game options, like subtitles.
The only advantage it has over emu is the ease of use (no need for hosts edits, or start of emulator every time you play). Emu has better values.db (never, and can be updated on the fly), and can save all game options properly.

And that contradicts what I said where?...
They could do exactly the same thing that Skidrow did, use the values from their servers database and aplying them directly to the game.
It doesn't change how the DRM works.

have you try the complete skidrow release?
or have you read this in nooby sites/forum? or have you only try the skidrow crack with a homemade release?

How is it better? and it only took me about 5 minutes to set up the server, so I beat the game without any crashes or issues a week before this was released I would say that is worth taking 5 minutes to set up a server. People complaining about not being able to install the server or having problems are just idiots and should lrn2computer, I never had one issue because I followed the instructions.
The game isn't even that great, It is fun to jump around the cities but there isn't much ambiance you don't get pulled into the game and the missions are weak doing the same thing over and over, but I admit the game play is longer than most games recently, as were you would be playing a game for 5 hours before you uninstall you can at least play this a few days before you uninstall, the ending sucks balls, you get to goto Roma and you never get to explore the city after you beat the game you can't even access it, I am sure that will be some 15 dollar dlc in the future though.
But this just proves cracking groups are huge fags stealing someones work so they can look like they are great crackers when in reality all they do is steal there cracks from other groups and from other people but when you are dealing with underground groups I guess you need to expect to be dealing with mostly douchebags.

Tested and reproduced 100%. With FULL skidrow release.
Some options just don't get saved after being set, and get lost after exiting the game (like subtitle settings). Not all options, though, graphics ones get saved properly.
I even know why it is happening.
Emu/retail versions have separate save file that stores some of the game settings. If you have just one saved session, in emu version you'll get 2 save files (plus two metadata ones), while in skidrow version would only create one save (and no metadata, but I don't think they matter).
One of those two saves from emu/retail versions is actually not a real session save but file that stores some game settings. And since it's never created in skidrow release some game options always revert to default when starting the game.

Well I use the Skidrow crack simply because I play the legit version of Settlers 7 and the only thing I need to do in order to switch from one game to another is a dll switch, whereas alternatively I need to fiddle around with host files and shit.
