Sometimes the original game forgets that I use subtitles and AA but I have no idea why it does, perhaps that's what happens here?
EDIT: Oh right it also saves to a protected folder location by default so if you use UAC run it as administrator or it won't be able to save the info properly.
(Settings.txt in \Appdata\Local\Ubisoft or something like that.)

It's been like that since early Vista builds leaked but it still seems to be a common error, most games do start and function but can behave oddly as some locations they try to access will be restricted, works better in W7 than it did with Vista though.
(Most titles will prompt and require access when needed by now as well.)
(Similarly to people wondering about missing D3D9_42.dll or something indicating the DirectX redist being out of date and that's been updated on a near monthly to tri-monthly basis since Windows XP DirectX 9 days.)

Nice job by Skidrow. Didn't expect from them to be so creative especially after SH5. Now UBI soft has to crack their solidshield to find holes of their own protection.
I hope that someone will finally crack Boundle's head (or we all fucking then)

Interesting method to crack the launcher but won't it cause problems for future titles?
(Separate DLL files for each crack due to differences with the protection and that sort of thing, launcher update is another issue but not a real problem if you block it somehow.)

Did Ubisoft's DRM Get Cracked?
Quote: | According to a report on CNET (thanks Blue's News), Ubisoft's DRM has been hacked. Skid Row, the group responsible, claim that the hack removes the DRM completely. It requires a download and install of a modified version of the game's executables. According to Skid Row, their methods have been safeguarded against reverse-engineering in order to ward off competing hacking groups and Ubisoft. The following note was included in the Readme file to Ubisoft:
"Thank you Ubisoft, this was quiete [sic] a challenge for us, but nothing stops the leading force from doing what we do. Next time focus on the game and not on the DRM. It was probably horrible for all legit users. We just make their lifes [sic] easier."
So far I haven't found anything that indicates the story is false.

So 3 Templar Lairs (Black Edition), Auditore Family Crypt, Extra set of Throwing Knives, Altair Outfit and Assassin's Creed II Wallpaper pack can be "unlocked" if playing game with that server emu + values files but not with skidrow version atm ?

No it can't. You HAVE to have a LEGIT Uplay key registered. AND a LEGIT Black Edition Unlock code tied to your Uplay account.
But, maybe some cracker group figures out a way to unlock it without Uplay
