I'm only amazed at Blizzard, for not doing this sooner. I mean it's like the first law of consumerism or something; people WILL buy expensive things - that aren't necessarily any better than the 'common' versions - just for the sake of them being expensive and therefore more rare. It's the same with clothes, cell phones, food, cars, jewelry, watches, sunglasses etc. etc. If it gives you bragging rights, people will want them.
Tho in this case, why'd anyone would change a badass chopper (THE ultimate WoW mount ) to a fruity horse that doesn't even have a texture for the most part, is beyond me.

Activision was probably working Blizzard towards this for a few years now.

for once, Activision is innocent. Simply because they have nothing to do with Blizzards Business.

December 2: Vivendi announced that their subdivision Vivendi Games would be merging Activision to form Activision Blizzard. Vivendi will be the major shareholder in this merger holding a 52% to 48% (pending results of the tender offer) stake of the newly formed company
2008
July 9: Activision Blizzard merger closes for $18.9 billion. Vivendi is majority stockholder, with 52% stake. |
However, I have no idea if this has anything to do with WoW
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

Quote: | Activision and Blizzard Entertainment still exist as separate entities. The holding company does not publish games under its central name and instead uses its subsidiaries to publish games, similar to how Vivendi Games operated before the merger. The merger makes Activision parent company of Vivendi Games former divisions. |
Ah...found what I was wondering about

Blizzard does it's own thing, atleast that's always been how it was brought out. So if that is true, this is all Blizzard.
I personally do not blame Blizzard, I'd do it too. Blame the fuckers who buy this shit for 25 bucks. MMO players are weirdos. I don't know if anyone here knows Travian, I have friends who've spent hundreds of euros on it. Go figure.

well in blizzards "defense". That mount is 100% OPTIONAL and not needed for anything and isn't faster or anything over the ingame mounts.
So they could sell it for 500$ if they wanted to and you still couldnt attack them for it. People buying this are the idiots, not Blizzards. Not likey they forcing anyone to buy it (or obligate anyone to do so).

I don't blame EA or Bethesda either. If people keep buying meaningless DLC items, developers will keep making meaningless DLC items. Simple demand and supply. Who wants to bet people will pay for demos if they have to? Or for mods? As long as it's cool, idiots will buy it. Glue a couple of shiny stones on a $20 mobile and you can sell it for $200. Stupid people with money, very dangerous.
