The 10.4 out there is just a preview. Let's just hope that it won't be like it was with 10.3, the preview version was actually newer than the final WHQL'd 10.3.

Drivers work fine here, unsure what people are talking about, I am using the "beta" 10.4 though (Preview but it's clear these are a full 10.4 build so I'm using them now for various other changes and fixes.) and as advertised and reported they do fix that problem for ATI 5000 series where the loading times could be up to a minute longer or more, probably due to texture loading or similar data management and a driver related bug with optimizations for the game or something similar.
ATI 4000 series and lower does not have this problem (Shouldn't have it anyhow, I've not experienced anything like that.) and loading times are only up to 10 - 15 or so seconds long.
(Depending on various factors like RAM speed, HDD speed, processor power and so on.)

(Depending on various factors like RAM speed, HDD speed, processor power and so on.) | According to DICE, the 4xxx cards do have the same problem. Well, I've always thought this is the case, because the game loads way faster for my friend with an nVidia card while I have a superior machine in every way (RAID0 etc). I agree that the problem isn't as bad as with 5xxx cards, but still I'd like to see some improvement.. Also, while in the limbo menu where the camera is far in the sky, the ground textures still bug for me, I hope ATI to find a fix for that as well. They keep shaking, disappearing, reappearing, etc, but in game there's no problems at all.

The loading times fix for the 4-series cards is in the works. Ati hopes to get it done within the week, at least that was the last news at the time of the 10.4 hotfix release.
