Hermes cios 223 v4 (38 merged with 37)
USB Loader GX 929 (though it seems to be beta so only god knows what problems gonna arise from that)
and it runs. Sadly I don't have the time to really sink some time into it atm :/

I think the main thing is having the new cios 249 revision 19 instaled to a ios37 base. I am using the old (well a older usb loader gx , not sure which version off the top of my head) heres what I have running and it seems to work.

installed cios 249 revision 19 to ios 37 base.

running a older usb loader gx /w these settings

set vid patch to yes

set ios to 249

and set 002 error fix to YES not Anti.

launched , created character , watched game into and took control of my character.

prior to these settings I would get locked screen with elongated beep just after selecting single player.

Hope this helps someone.

Enjoy!

Couldn't get this working...

I ended up using configurable usb loader v56, loaded with 223-mload, ios reload blocked.

I was able to launch in game and take control of my character, however, if I lingered in the options screen for too long (like 10-15 seconds) my game would freeze.

Are you able to go in and out of all the options in the menu screen?

I had the same issue, just soft modded my wii today.

I then applied the Hermes cios 223 v4 and played withUSB Loader GX no problem

Edit: this is the file you need: Hermes_cIOS222_223_installer_3.0_(rev4)

This post is missing so much info. ;p

What rev. of usb loader gx?

How are you loading usb loader gx?

What do you mean by "played with" no problem? Did you actually get ingame and take control of your character?

Is there a way to change weapons outside of your house? Or equipment for that matter?

I used Hermes 223 v4 with 38 & 37 merged and then used USB Loader GX version929

so that's setup as this which is working fine on my HDTV composite lead setup
1. usb loader gx 929 wad
2. vidtv patch on
3. 002 fix to yes
4. ios 223

Pal 4.2E softmodded,(249 rev14)(not tested 19 as not updated that yet)

Monster Hunter Tri working fine and been playing last 5 hours with no problems

Damn... I'll try this later.

Do you load usb loader gx with 249?

ALSO: What format are all your external drives in? Mine is FAT32...

Well, I ended up with this... no matter what Hermes version I tried to set it to run with, it just wouldn't happen.

Nothing but freezes and crashes with usbloader_gx and any form of Hermes loading (v4, v5, base 38+37, base 38, everything).

I tried it with 222 and it works fine.
FAT32 is no go, you have to use the weird wii format, WBFS or something...can't remember quite clearly.

Too bad this isn't on PS3... I don't know anyone who owns a wii and would be even remotely interested in this game and playing solo in monster hunter cuts the fun by a lot. Sad

Monster.Hunter.Tri.PAL.WII-LoCAL

but nfo says netsupport| No

NTSC works fine on internet multiplayer. I would prefer the PAL as it is better looking but, the MP is half the reason this game is so awesome.

This game freezes and gives me a hideous buzzing noise after the game file is created! I am using Neogamma so I guess my mod is a bit out of date. Going to try updating with Configurable USB Loader and see what happens ...

May the NFOrce be with you always.

I've had a Wii for a while and reading up on how USB loaders and those IOS/CIOS works was a bit complicated at first but as explained this game hooks to IOS 37 so you need a CIOS with this, Waninkoko (Or how it's spelled.) usually works against CIOS 57 (Rev 19) but can be choosen to install as other versions (CIOS 249 or CIOS 250)

There's a pretty good thread on GBATemp that tells how to install those uLoader like V.5 CIOS as 2002, 222, 223 and 224 as different IOS and then 249 and 250 Waninkoko so you can use them together.

I've found that uLoader (Latest version 5) and CFG USB Loader (Latest 5.7) works best with switching Cios/Ios to use per game, CFG Loader can also be set up with different profiles and the separate configuration utility.
(NeoGamma latest version 9 beta9 - mostly GC stuff though - also has some custom WDM files for titles that use IOS reload protection such as Metroid Prime Trilogy and other recent titles and support for stuff that use Motion Plus and needs that video watched once, this can also be used by Configurable Loader.)

I also have USB Loader GX set up (1.929 but it's a bit buggy, has to disable disc sounds, that game preview media when clicking that spinning disc, or it might freeze when loading a game, also not as good with custom IOS/CIOS stuff.)

Can't link to it due to it classing as piracy and copyrighted content but Neo Gamma GBATemp in Google should work. Smile
(Wii Loader section for the USB stuff and Wii hacking section for IOS/CIOS and tutorials like the one I mentioned.)

(Should allow the game to start and function correctly, not played it much though, just got the quest system going after doing that mushroom collecting and got some basic hunter armor and weapons plus a ton of other misc stuff that will probably have some use in crafting or similar.)

I'm not very far into the game so I can't say much (Tier 2 quests or what to call them just opened.) but there's a few nice reviews available like for example Eurogamer - http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/monster-hunter-tri-review detailing various aspects of the game. Smile

Ok, I picked up my Wii and a classic controller but when I was reading through the manual the nunchaku moves look sweet so I have to ask:

Classic controller

OR

Nunchaku?

I had the game(game+controller+wii speak) preordered on amazon for 31 pounds. But amazon canceled my preorder. Sad
I guess on this version there would have been the figurine.
I decided to check the game out first before buying but I just dunno. It just feels like all you do is grind and grind and there are several aspects of the game which arn't explained very well or not at all, which kinda pisses me off since I have to search for it on the internet.
