I agree! I have never felt more proud of myself for solving a game! This game was a true challenge.

wonder if they will do a DS1 + DS2 package like the GOW series for the uk release. Lets hope so. I would buy a collectors edition of this game again.

just if anyones looking for it in the UK, theres a heap of them on ebay atm http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m38.l1313&_nkw=demons+souls&_sacat=See-All-Categories
Not sure if anyone has told this already, but Atlus recently disclosed the issue of its UK/EU release:
Quote: | "truth is that Atlus only has the North American rights for the game, unlike 3D Dot Game Heroes where Atlus also has the PAL rights, which means that although we're working together on 3DDGH the same partnership isn't possible for Demon's Souls," |

I think they just dropped the ball, I did approach two major publishers for comment but they weren't even aware of the game until the 2009 GOTY contender list was published
They subsequently suggested that it was too late in the day to market the game as so many people had bought it on import.

in all honesty, fuck that. Every time I've bought from those independent hong kong dealers ive either just not received ANYTHING or ive received something totally not what its described like.. then their ebay account just seems to disappear or get banned and i never get my money back..
Be very cautious when ordering from asia on ebay. The laws are different it seems. It's worth just waiting for a UK seller to pop up and pay a bit more for it (i got my first copy for like £34 posted)

Do you mean by adding mods you broke Oblivion? If that's what you mean, that's to bad because Oblivion is one of my favorite games of all time. Especially with all the Expansion packs and mods. Demon's Souls is not as deep as Oblivion. The game has 5 areas or 6 if you count the Nexus to explore which are very linear. Oblivion has a living/breathing world where DS has a pretty dead atmosphere due to reasons that unfold from the story itself. DS is a game that does one thing and it does it well, challenge the player. It doesn't have much of a story but that doesn't matter because the game itself will challenge you like you have probably never been challenge before. The last time I was challenged like this was Baldur's Gate II. When you solve DS you will be proud and feel like you really accomplished something. I highly recommend DS not just because it will challenge you but because the game is made very well. They did a lot of great things with this game. The combat if very good and memorable. There is that feeling of dread when ever you go into a sword fight with another opponent. If you die, you die and you have to start the entire area over as there are no save points. So if you are fighting a boss and die, it's back to the start of that level. Just know this, DS is a skill in itself and you get good at it. There is method to sword fighting, rolling, blocking and counter attack. It all works together to give the player an advantage once learned. Give it a shot, you won't regret it!
Another cool thing about DS is that there are nice drops when you kill opponents especially the tough opponents. There are items that you have to hunt for. That is a lot like Diablo. There is magic as well. The games can be compared in a few ways like when you leave to the Nexus and come back everything respawns just like in Diablo. You will also be doing a lot of level grinding as well.

I can guarantee you a import dealer if you want to buy DS but you can pick one up from Tronix in the US on a three day turn-around.

Great news for the few that didn't import it! LOL! I hope they make a boat load of cash as this game deserves the success!

I didn't manage to get Flamelurker down by myself. Even with the help of two others for some reason, it was real piece of work.

Flamelurker was the 2nd hardest boss for me to beat. I was only able to kill him when I was almost dead and he was down to 25% and I got a bone barrier between him and I. Otherwise, I died about 6 times before that. The final boss was the hardest for me. I got him literally down to 1 more hit to finish him off but I died. Then, well, it's well documented what happened to my end game. I am glad I went through the game twice to complete it. It was well worth it and in my top 5 for PS3 games.

Yeah, Heavy Rain is on my list as well. But there were many others in front of Heavy Rain. I am addicted to Craig's List! LOL! Beats Game Stop that's for sure! I have bought about 10 games in the past month. Some of them for $10-$15 a piece! Ratchet and Clank Future a Crack in Time ($20!!!) is a very fun and impressive game! It is at a full 1080p! Probably, once I complete Ratchet and RDR I will finally be able to give HR a try.

Haha, probably not. GoW3 on the other hand had me toss it (not overly hard) and this game hasn't so maybe that'll give you an idea.
I've found exactly what everyone here has said, this game is challenging, and very punishing of your mistakes, but that's the point. It was your mistake you died, not the games fault, so if you're going to be mad, be mad at yourself. The one rage moment I had was me putting down the controller and storming out of the room.
Now that I feel more comfortable with what I'm doing I also feel more like I'm really exploring all these decrepit places. The prison level especially sends chills down my spine, and the lack of any music really heightens the experience of dread, fear and axiety of what's around the next corner.
Honestly, this game is near flawless
i can has computar?!
