Nah that's not it... the clones ARE better really (no crack needed so you can update your game without mess and everything). The thing is that if no crack is needed, everybody can release a clone, and this kinda destroy the scene (major groups cracking skill are no longer needed).. well that's what I think lol

Has anyone tested this with the first release of the sims 2 (the multilanguage version) with this? I mounted it in alochol and it doesn't work.

Yes Daemon tools can mount some of EA's game that Alcohol can't.
* The gamespot released was just finnished (7.9/10) so I added it on the top.

This is a guide how to change the university language
1)Open regedit and go in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE-EA GAMES-The Sims 2 University - 1.0
2) right click on language and click modify
3) change the number 1 from:
2 - French
3 - German
4 - Italian
5 - Spanish
6 - Dutch
7 - Danish
8 - Swedish
9 - Norwegian
Also u can edit the file autorun.cgf in autorun folder on cd1 and put 1 after the name of your language, but then u have to save it without lost protection

Nothing works, always the same problem.
While installing in 66% it gives this: "A problem occured when trying to transfer the file '...ijl15.dll' from the media" when I press retry, the same error message pop ups again.
It seems, though, that some people on the official board have the same problem. |
I have no problems while installing the game.
But I discovered another problem.
It asks for the CD4 of The Sims 2, but I have the DVD Edition :'(

Yep, same here. Crashes just before the game starts, as it scrolls through the city. I tried reinstalling everything with just mounting it, same exact thing. Definatly a game flaw I'm assuming.

If it doesnt start then kill SIMS2EP1.exe process and try starting again... i had to do this once

just tested and work! create a mini image with Mini image ripper mount this "game.MIR" image on alcohol virtual drive and create a alcohol image from virtual drive & obtain a "game.mdf" & "game.mds", USE this with starf*** tool 0.83 & Deamon tools, profile "securom" (safedisk not available) create a link launch game with it, if ask to insert CD clic continue (2 or 3 x by FIRST lauch only), if necessary and work (because you have installed from D:\ and mini image is on G:\ ,The game need found the new drive).
Thank for info about installer langage switch:
"Also u can edit the file autorun.cgf in autorun folder on cd1 and put 1 after the name of your language, change NumLanguages=2 to NumLanguages=3 but then u have to save it without lost protection ."no probs about protection, added on CD1 a crack folder that contain mini image, demon tools, alcohol 120%, and starf***0.83 tool.
work fine for my childs.

I'm done with this now. Now textures dont even show up. Some textures on objects are just the name of the texture repeated over.

I dont know how it works for you using alcohol. But besides that issue, I finally got the thing to run without any gay crashes, or texture problems.

Ok, Im done with this fucking thing. I have no idea wtf is going on with it. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling a shitload, but I always get the same BS. Now the game is so completely bugged that its broken. Meaning - My sims just stand there and do nothing, and when I goto create a new family, no sims appear on the little stand to be created. This university expansion is either bugged to complete shit, or there is a problem with the vengeance release. Either way, im done with this shit.
*note* My sims 2 and the expansion downloads were not corrupted, and I followed everything, but every re-install would always end up with a new problem. I personally suspect that this does not have to do with bugs in the game, but either with this release, or the game purposely crippling itself. If anyone gets this expansion release to work with their sims 2, let me know, but I have a feeling its completely fucked. My normal sims 2 install works fine, but the minute I put this on, it fucks everything up.

omg!!! TO GET DIFF LANGUAGES FOR DUMMIES IN 3 EASY STEPS SEE BELOW;
1(one). Select all the files on the mounted image/cd, rightclick, copy, and paste into your harddrive..
2(two). Find the autocfgblahablaha.cfg file in some autorun folder, open it with notepad, change the language u want to 1 instead of 0, eventually may have to change the number of languages line, save..
3(three). Run the installfile, find it yourself u bum..
or is that too hard for you folks to figure out yourselves??
