Is this shipping with some new hard to crack DRM protection or are we to expect a scene release at any moment?

Who said anything about 5 hours? It's 10 hours per episode = ~20 hours. Even more if you're into races and collectibles.

The missions and story isn't the fun part about GTA, it is just fucking around in the world, as long as the episodes add more content to mess with I am happy. Heck I played GTA 4 for along time and never even bothered to finish the story just enough to get to the last island.

If fucking around the city is what makes you tick, I really think Just Cause 2 is more suited for atrox6661 - it has a lot more crazy stuff to do than any GTA.

Omg, dude it's seriously only $29 on Steam. Plus the game runs great and doesn't even use Rockstar Social Club any more. It's worth the money imho.

I believe it is a standalone release - meaning it includes the original files.
It's more then 5hrs playtime certainly.
