I've inadvertently downloaded a password protected rar-archive containing this Splinter Cell game (off Usenet). Is there a way to circumvent the protection? By using a few rar's of an unprotected archive with the same game...? I'd hate to redownload the 7GB's a second time.

Apparently there is an easy way to get the password: visit the recommended website and subscribe to some iPhone shit. What's going on; a bunch of scammers trying to profit off selling warez? Scratch Head

I normally make that mistake, and this time was no exception.

The only tip I can give is to just download 1 rar file then open it. Winrar will obviously bitch that its missing files but at least you can see what the overall contents could be. If there's any mention of a password or containing another rar file, then don't download the other rars.

If it looks clean, queue up the remaming files and away you go.

No matter how many of these questionnaires you run through, the password will never appesr.

or you guys can just use newzbin - which is now free - the comments system works well, if it's password protected, someone will complain, and someone will usually provide the password.

Stuff like that happens all the time. Scammers download a new release from usenet, repack it into a password protected archive and try to lure people to some scam site.

The best thing is always to download the oldest upload you can find on usenet. This is usually the real deal Wink

well thats ok for everything other than movies / tv - if you want games, then newzbin is fine. but i guess if you want movies / tv, you need premium credit as you need to search files and make the nzbs yourself. still, newzbin is suitable for this one.

BACK ON TOPIC - i've just burnt but need to finish work before playing - looking forward to this. I always found SC a bit alienating because it was TOO stealthy, and a bit too confusing to pick up and play. Sounds like this may be more up my street.

reverse is also true, if they are discussing the "stealth shit" than obviously it is a non-passworded release Smile

Can I burn STRANGE release just like it is, or is there any special procedure. Like SSV2...

I have LT firmware, and I´m not banned.

This is actually a pretty good game, like someone else said the demo doesnt do this justice.

i like how sam fisher is a badass motherfucker and you can try a lot of different tactics mostly resulting in a shoot fest but thats my own fault when i mess up. The cover system is in 1 word great and the artistic direction with the projecting images i do like a lot.
Good story to as far as i can tell and i like the music. gg Smile

I was thinking this game is bit boring but then I noticed I had unlocked all the grenade-type gadgets. It makes it quite alot better with explosions lol, but doesn't help with stealth Smile

If you want to be the safest possible wait for it to be verified on agbx or at the least inject the ssv2 files

The strange's release in its current state is classed as unsafe

www.jimbeeer.com/?page_id=432 will often have passwords for some of the more popular downloads.
