IMHO ppl that have problems launching this game using emulator should get a console. How hard it is to read FAQ on cs forum? I guess it's harder than posting here your every fail...

Hey guys I'm getting the following error when I run server.exe in CMD:

Then server.exe just quits and the EMU launcher says that it's not running... Can anyone help?

I gotta admit, UBI did create a fun game.
The first one got old fast but this one keeps my interest.

I didnt install this game yet, i'm waiting for a final emulator version. But what do you guys mean when you say "some sidemissions not working". They dont appear at all on the map like they're not even into the game? Or you can start them but when you finish them nothing happends? Or ? What to expect ?

From what I understand when you embark on a mission that isn't accounted for by the server emulation your screen goes white and you get kicked out of the game. But I may be misreading someone when I say that.

Ah. So what the emulator does is, it has some preprogrammed responses to challenges from the game. this might take some time.

Finished the game, did everything possible in it, no problems whatsoever. If a mission bugs (never happened to me), it's a case of aborting and redo it.

after I I switched to the newest Server version{0.41} and did everything I'm getting this error every time I want the start the game....

well.some say that the latest emu not working with the launcher update...i am using the older version of the emu and so far so good. anyways, thats what i know:
1. Run the game ("%PROGRAMFILES%\Ubisoft\Assassin's Creed II\AssassinsCreedIIGame.exe").
2. You'll notice that the launcher will update itself. This update is necessary for the server emulator to work. If you don't do this, you're shit out of luck.
3. After the client updates and asks you to login/create an account, simply exit it.
4. Find your hosts file (%WINDIR%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts).
5. Double-Click on it and Open it with Notepad.
6. Copy the following lines and paste them so they are listed first before anything else:

127.0.0.1 ubisoft-orbit.s3.amazonaws.com
127.0.0.1 onlineconfigservice.ubi.com
127.0.0.1 orbitservice.ubi.com

7.run the emulator and after run AC2.exe ,when you ask to log in, use any user and pass you want and log everytime with this user to be able to save your games.
just use the lates version of the emu and the latest value file (overight) and you will be fine.
if you have skype or anyothere serevr interaptor in the bakground, just shut it down. |

I think Ubilauncher update is included with latest emu version.
I wouldn't recommend updating automatically as I heard the latest update doesn't work with emulator.

I updated the game before applying the Hosts edits, and it worked fine. It says in the readme that installing the 1.01 patch is recommended, so why not?

On my pc (Athlon II x2 250 , HD4870 , 2 gb ram , windows 7 , all drivers up to date), the game runs like crap , no matter what settings i apply , especially at the villa (fps is sometimes 20 O_o) . GTA IV runs better than this . Wtf ?

Some missions have different ways to be completed and something as dying on one mission also triggers an server action.

The update thats refred to is the 0.43 Eemu server files. The problem it's having is the updated UBIGamelauncher.exe ( Now V.118 ) and it logs into a server thats we dont have in hosts file yet.
Simpliest fix UPDATE to 0.43 serve files IF you want to THEN replace V.118 of gamelauncher with PREVIOUS versison v.117. Then it'll work like it did before. At leasast until the new server can be added to hosts file for V.118.

So that's why they kept updating the launcher so frequently.
(Well it happened fairly often before this method but it's gone pretty quick lately, changelog or similar would be nice, all it's supposed to do is connect the game to the server and launch it so it has to be pretty damn buggy or even broken to require daily build style updating, haha.)

Lastest version of emu server is 0.4.4 and for new installers don,t update launcher from ubi servers because they have released version 1.0.0.18 and the server is working with v,1.0.0.17 just replace launcher files located in the lastest emu version in your game launcher folder and it will work.

my launcher is named AssassinsCreedII.exe 630k...
anyone with .17 could send me his exe?
