PoP is AMAZING, I suggest you play that and wait till the bugs in Warband get ironed out

I want mah PoP ported to Warband. I want to play Pendor, but I also don't want to give up the improvements from Warband. Ugh.

They do need to fix morale in Warband though. I have an army of about 110 men, and it's impossible to keep my morale up. I can't find any armies large enough for my morale to increase when winning, and food can't keep them happy enough.

Kinda OT: Anyone else have problems connecting to TaleWorlds forums? Pretty much 20 hours a day it's down for me.

Do you have a high level of leadership?
That could help to keep the morale high.

It's at 6 now. Still, Leadership will only give me a bonus of 70 morale when it's at level 10. I pretty much have to be constantly fighting and taking castles for my men not to desert me.

They're more or less all Huscarls/Veterans, so I'd rather not to. Razz

So far, I found that for field battles, the best force are the Swabians Knights (my 60 Knights rape any lord/king army that I encounter), but I'm find out that the best for the siege battles are indeed the Huscarls.

But, yes, keeping the moral high is a pain, and I have 7 on leadership.

This is bullshit. Managed to take a castle from Swadia with my army of 70 Vaegir Knights and Guards, so I requested it from the King Douchebag. I camped it in case they would try to retake it, only to be rejected after pushing off 3 waves of 100 troops because I already have "significant estate in his realm" -I have none. And this fucker paid me only 900 denars! to compensate.

Well I'm at -20 with him because I have no way to know what factions we have a peace treaty with, and I go around pillaging everything that is possible.

Check on the Notes -> Factions. It's there the relations between every faction.

Then are you surprised he doesn't trust you with a castle?

Yeah just raid whatever your faction is at war with and it'll be ok.

And regarding morale, I think it was in module.ini where I saw the modifier for how much each point of leadership adds to the morale. Should be trivial to edit it if you feel it's a real issue (if you ask me, you should be able to amass as big armies as anyone when you've maxed it, maybe with the exception of the kings. Kings should have some extra perks after all Razz).

I just started out but I think I'll reinstall the original M&B and try some of the mods - it's been over a year now since I played and haven't tried most of the stuff out there. That 1866 Western mod looks sweet!

You need to use the Tweak Tool to change that (or do it manually of course, but that's much more tedious). I already did change it from 7 to 15, and it's still not enough for my army of 150 men now. Guess I'll have to up it even more. Also, the morale is definately broken, as you don't even increase it when taking enemy castles/towns.

Oh, the tool for anyone who wants it. It has some nice options. http://www.mbrepository.com/file.php?id=1751

is there a way to get rid of the disguise once you snuck into a castle? These free the prisoner missions are impossible for me otherwise.. going against 5-6 soldiers with just a stick is kinda lame.

You have throwing knives, use them.

Besides, the staff is not bad at all. I have no problems taking out guards with it.

dammit.. now i'm fucking angry
they haven't touched on sieges AT ALL
it was the absolute worst issue of the original and it STILL IS
and equally broken.. troops just bunch up at the bottom and won't bother climbing up

You know whats really funny, they made sieges great in multiplayer, multiple entry points, backdoors, siege towers. None of that was ported to single player.

The AI is kinda stupid but a pre-battle arrangement of what troops deploy where and then proceed to attack the closest entry point could have solved the lemming issue, and wouldn't require any major AI changes. Just make a simple deployment interface, and have the AI defenders guard each entry point accordingly. Seems like the quickest fix besides writing tons of AI code to make use of multiple entry points.

Or if they want to be very basic about it, just have 3 ladders next to each other and the AI spreads evenly to each.

BTW I think the latest patch fixed the moral issue.

The last patch broke the end of the battle screen, i see how many died and got wounded but it doesn't show who.

So many things broken with this game, i really hope they fix it, because the game is so much fun

Chose your battles wisely and use your troops. Don't expect your raw recruits to take on a horde of seasoned veteran knights, and you will most likely be raped if you try to solo them (hunting bandits is a great way to train your troops). Also setting the AI to the lowest might help too. It will make a serious impact on their reaction times. Smile

No, it didn't. SKIDROW must have fucked up, cause that screen works just fine for me.

@Moose, Yeah, the game is quite tough when you start out. Make sure you join a faction and stick around in their battles to train your troops and yourself.

wow. i played this for 10-15 min. it bored me to tears. the camera angle is way too close and clumsy. i switched to 1st person and during the tutorial it took several seconds to load a bolt in a crossbow. i know they probably want realism but i don't want to spend that much time sitting around for an animation to complete. it just kills pacing. Sad

anyway, this one is going to uninstall land along with distant worlds. Very Happy
