I created an account on C&C.com (which is not mentionned in the NFO) ... it did some patching.... but i still get the same error.
note : you can create an account and download patches launching original EXE as the serial number is only asked when you actually tried to launch the game itself for the frist time....

Its not because it didnt update correctly, its because of a too long of directory name, I had the same issue IF i left it default ( gave the remember to rebuild data error ) I shortened the name AND that message didnt come up after installing / updating.

congratulations sir ... it worked.
my install dir was G:\program files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Command and Conquer 4 tiberium Twilight
now it's G:\program files (x86)\CC4
i'm surprised more people didn't have this problem as well ...
As the original must work with default path, it means that RLD loader can't deal with complicated paths : )

Sorry if this has already gone through here but is there a way to get XP because doing the late game missions with level 1 units and tech will be rather difficult i imagine...

If you mean harvesting Tiberium, then no. This game has no base building, no harvesting, etc. Its more like Dawn of War 2.

just run the original cnc4.exe ( the one in the root dir ) that should bring up any updates if available ( if i remember reading that here before correctly ?? )

After completing a campaign, how do you get more xp to unlock units? Do you have to play skirmish matches?

In the reloaded version you cant edit anything, and editing your xp is like cheating in my eyes.

Sucks Westwood got bought out. If they were still making the series, they would have made a lot better versions than EA has. RA3 was a joke. I mean a tank that can fire people out across the map??? WTF! Stupid and silly.
What a horrible way to end the series with C&C 4. They really buried the series. I love how the Scrin magically have disappeared and have no mention in the game. Even playing the original C&C with outdated graphics is better than this atrocity. They should have called it C&C 4, the retard edition. I bet some people bitched an whined about managing a base and there was too much going on etc. So they really dumbed it down to one building that practically does everything.

Well, even for SP, you can't access all available units in the game, unless you gain all the XP. Very dumb.  This is the MW culture for you.

i dont get why they remove base building, its one of the key things about rts games, multiplayer people might not like it much because generally its all about who can build the fatest base and then power out XXX units the fastest.
but single player base building > gay ass spawning units

for some strange reason when i run this game it always is played in a windowed and not in full screen view anyone got any ideas how to fix this im running it on win7 ?..any ideas?

on XP it in
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Command and Conquer 4\Profiles\USERNAME there is options.ini you can change resolution.
Dont know where it is on Win7.. see if its in c:\users or search for it

I think RLD crack is fucked up. I mean, I've finished the "To Kill a Prophet" mission (it was a pain because a lot of CTD during that mission) but when I've finally completed it, it jumped right to the "Lockdown" mission (the one BEFORE "To Kill a Prophet")
Also, it doesn't save my current position in the story. The last mission available is always "Lockdown"
