Achievements & cd keys are stored in your account.About savegames-backup savegames of LIVE games separtely(i mean look where there are and save it,usually in My documents folder or/and My Games folder) and also C:\Documents and Settings\(XXXXXXXXXXXXX)\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\XLive folder because some games wil not find saves stored in My Documents folder without baskuping info from Xlive folder.

Oh and to clear up any confusion; Fallout New Vegas and Mafia II are both SteamWorks games, not Live, so no key goodness there. Max Payne 3 hasn't been listed for Live either, so we'll just have to wait and see on that one.

Does anybody know how to activate GTA4 properly?
I had a few keys left and decided to try GTA4 multiplayer.
Fired up the game, created a profile, later on it asked for the serial which i entered with no problem.
Now the game is working fine so far but I can only play Player matches.
When I try to create an ranked match it says this gamemode doenst support MODS.
Now I figured this is because of the crack im using?
Further on I found a LaunchGTAIV.exe by securom (Unprotected launcher)
This removes the DVD-Check, but still requires Online Authentication..
Aight so now Im using this launcher, when I fire it up it tells me I need to activate the game but it keeps rejecting my serial. so does if I try to active it manually
(Activation process has been terminated The SERIAL was not found in the database. Most likely the SERIAL has been entered incorrectly.)
How come not found in the database? Ingame it did accept the serial using this windows live thingy.
And I was able to play online on non ranked matches/player match, or are you tellin me Player matches dont require an valid serial?
Anyone know how to bypass this shit? I'm sure the serial(s) are valid, it rejects all of them using this activation process.
Got these keys from THE CLUB where Sega forgot to provide serials, if anyone remember.
So yeah if anyone knows how to fix this, thanks.

First no mods on MP, second just apply the crack and add the serial IN GAME, I guess you updated or something if your crack suddenly doesn't work anymore.

wrong.Mods are oficially supported from game after patch 1.0.7.0. but only in normal mathes.And every server with mods have SIMPLE TRAINER in name.They are not autorized in ranked mathces only.
@NoLiMiTSoLDieR i think that there is no solution for that.Problem is from sound with animation of 1911 that start everytime with game.REmoving 1911.dll didnt work,game did not want to start.I really dont understand why Razor put this shit in their cracks...Its useless and if somebody know how to "deattach" it, game will work in ranked matches.
Online activation did not work(SERIAL was not found in the database) because this is a glytch from LIVE.I mean online activation is legit way to put your gta4 key.Puting it through LIVE intereface activate that glytch and thats why you can use key from one game to other.Dont try,there is no way to activated that way.
Maybe only way for that is to play game through cracked steam.I am not sure about what cracks uses cracked games throught steam?Maybe they are different from retil games cracks?I really dont know.I search in cs.rin but i did not understand anything from this steam shits...The problem is we just need cracked launcher only,without additional shit to it(1911.dll).
Maybe its possible with mini-image,if excist but i also cant find anything about that over internet.
If somebody manage to bypass this and be able to create ranked matches pls PM me.

But if you could actually activate the game that way I think it was possible to play ranked.
cause theres is an official No-cd launcher available from securom itself?

On the other hand, I did spot a Mini-Image on GCW, i will try that later on today.
Maybe you should check it out too mroussev.

If we manage to activate that game through oficiall way,online cd check,everything will be perfect.But this is impossible....I know about mini image in GCW but it didnt work in original launcher-still ask for online activating.Its for people with original gta4 keys,that can bypass it,to not use thei gta4 dvd's but mini image only.Doesnt work for us,pirites...
There is no other launcher different from Razor's one.There is no other mini image,and there os no way to bypass online check...
Only way that stays is maybe throught cracked steam and only if cracks for Steam games are different from retail.But i doubt it...
In fact you can still play in ranked matches.You just can create ones.If you have friend with original game you could play with him,and he must create game.There is no problem.Its the only solution for now...
