Patch out, about 40 or maybe it is actually 400 MB, game isn't broken anymore then I guess. Haha. Razz

EDIT: Yeah it's 400 MB, I checked the temp file it creates as it downloads and it's at 125 MB at the moment.

Gamersgate and Steam so far, probably retail as well in the US, still constructing my castle so I can't say much but most of what's available was covered in the demo or beta, slightly better performance plus all the bugfixes from 1.0.1 in the retail version however.
(Still a very demanding game with everything on but it looks quite good, sort of a rather strong depth of field effect perhaps, depends on how it's focused.)

(It's going to take a few more hours to cover all the "nodes" so I've put it aside for now.)

EDIT: Need to take the uPlay achievements as well to earn the points required for the DLC content.
(Similar to AC2 and SH5, extra maps, modes, objects to use for building and minor things like wallpaper, I've only got content that adds to the actual games so far to avoid wasting points as those are very limited, posted all about this in the AC2 thread including Splinter Cell and other titles addons.)

Haven't managed to get it to work, UBISoft manager connects just fine and stays connected, but a few seconds after map have been loaded a message pop-ups

"Attempting to restore connection... [...]"

ALT-TAB-ing to Vista and back to game allows to play game for the next 5 seconds.
Maybe DRM doesn't like my VPN internet connection(ISP requirement) or maybe it's two working NICs and Internet Sharing. Tried with AV and firewall completely disabled, still no go.

Anyway, now I absolutely sure that I would hate it even if DRM message would pop-up less frequently Sad

I would never support such DRM in a single player game, was trying demo, wanted to see the game and how the DRM works. After experiencing all the pleasures of pause pop-up I would never buy a game with such DRM even if all games at the market would use it. Would simply stick to indie games and board games sessions Smile

Well I got my money back for my Sh5 purchase due to the servers not working meaning I had a product that didn't meet expectations, since then I've initiated a personal boycut against games with unwarrented restrictive drm.
Meaning I won't even be buying steam games anymore, oh well slightly off topic.
I believe those blue balls are places where you can attach sections in your design.

Yeah they are, I keep adding until I run out of placement spots which has taken close to two hours so far, still a lot of places to stuff things on.

And yeah I know about the DRM but I like the game and buy all games that I enjoy, it's a sort of principle despite the cost and other annoyances like DRM.

The DRM doesn't actually bother me much either actually although having a crack available is nice just in case it starts acting up again like early on Assassins Creed 2 / Silent Hunter V did.

Though unfortunately I don't expect it to be cracked anytime soon due to this server side verification thing, emulating it might be possible but it won't be as easy as with C&C 4 (Which I also own, heh.) as it's more than just your profile stored.

It's sort of a non-winnable situation for us customers though, if the game does not sell then they'll simply move away from PC titles (Ubisoft kinda do already with these delayed releases.) and if it gets cracked and everyone pirates it it'll just make them try with a more restrictive solution in the future.

Far Cry 2 tried with SecuROM and it got cracked, not the greatest of games but very well made as such and not just a simple port as is common, Avatar tried with Tages and it worked for a while but it got cracked and saw pretty poor sales as well, not exactly a great example though as the game was rather average, Prince of Persia they even tried without any real DRM method and it got pirated heavily, of course it's not a good example either as it was a rather shallow PoP title though again quite well made.

Obviously developers and perhaps more accurately the publishers are starting to really try to fight piracy with all sorts of inventive and imaginative ways, EA tries to push early DLC for free to those who buy it and are now also testing a online system, Ubisoft tried with different methods but failed and now they use this heavy-handed approach but tries to balance it with free DLC addons instead via their uPlay system.

More developers also adopt heavier DRM schemes like SecuROM online and Tages to prevent early leaks (Or Steam which is quite effective for this.)

Of course piracy is just a small (And often a convenient excuse and overhyped/overblown.) reason, games are being simplified and made easier to access all in the name of greater sales and profit, it works though or atleast for the console side it works which is unfortunate but with gaming being a multi-million business it's understandable in a way to try to recuperate those costs in some way although I don't exactly like this simplification and half-baked (Well ok, half-arsed.) console ports with bad optimization and various other problems or over simplistic gameplay.

Once again though piracy is common across most platforms and on PC it's simply a more available excuse as it's seen as easier to perform and more widespread (It's pretty widespread on the console side as well but generally ignored due to the much better sales and profits it generate plus DLC revenue and so on.) so I don't believe in the stuff about how it's going to end PC gaming, that's just due to consoles being more profitable and simplified games selling many times more, even just on name alone like say Call of Duty did.
(There are exceptions of course, smaller and more independent studios deliver some nice stuff now and then and it's not like all games are simplified or quickly and crudely ported over with bad optimization and controls and so on although it happens frequently.)

Bit of a drawn out response perhaps, it's just how I am, I do support PC games I end up enjoying and buy most games even if I download them first.
(I have multiple titles pre-ordered spanning the entire year already for example.)

Disable anti-aliasing and multi-sampling, first uses a very light blur but still blurs object, second uses a very strong blur effect to hide "edges" in models.

When they see the knights on the cover, they will all think of Crusaders. And we all knew what the Crusaders did. And we all know what they think of what they did to them.

Lots of mysticism in that sentence, eh... Ugly cover, nevertheless, the EU one is much better.
