A PC game is around 30~40% cheaper then a console one, and usually better.
So they delay the PC version to make more money.
It's funny 'cause there we were thinking the delay was about piracy.
Games are cheaper on PC because there is no mandatory verification that has to be done for console. You can't just make and release a console game, you have to submit to MS or Sony to check your game, and that costs money.
And because console kiddies are easier to fool into thinking the prices are worth it. That, and they have all their parents' money to spend on the games.
Don't forget the DLC packs. Want to bet Ubisoft will release a "stimulus package" consisting of a brand new outfit for Sam to wear? Watch the Xbot kiddies run an buy!

Yeah, gonna buy this from g2play, same as I did with AC2. More cheaper that way and I don't need a t-shirt. From the gameplay videos looks like a really good game.
Don't be surprised if $60 becomes the norm because people ran out and spent that amount on CODMW2. All of the other companies noticed and figured why shouldn't we get a piece of this pie. I don't understand how people can be that desperate to play a game, but to each his own. Now the publishers know this and they're going to rape people as long as we allow it. I don't care what game it is, i won't pay that amount for ANY game that isn't a cool-ass collectors edition like the God of War III for the ps3. Wicked ass box and 2 cds plus what i'm sure is a really good game. Yes, i know this the PC section i was just using that as an example.

After looking at the gameplay videos on YT it doesn't look like there'll be a proper vs mode like in the previous games. On the bright side, there're a bunch of new maps for Chaos Theory, including a couple of co-op maps.
"It would seem that Ubisoft have stealthily cut the price of the Limited Edition version of their upcoming title, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction. Previously priced at £69.99, UK retailer GAME has today announced that the Limited Edition on Xbox 360 has received a price drop down to £59.99.
The PC version has also received the same price cut, now being available for £49.99 rather than the previous £59.99."
