The game is really cool, although It does not look like xbox360 could not cope with it's graphics. Still I am happy to have a PS3 Smile

Show me a game on the 360 that looks anywhere near as good as this, or uncharted 2 for that matter. You can't because there aren't any. There has to be a reason for that.

I played a bit more yesterday, the game is epic. I love the combat controls - not too difficult and responsive. I reached palace of Hades and try to figure out how to cufflink both his hands.

I'm playing it on hard and it's fucking difficult alright. I spent 25 minutes last night getting owned at the door to Olympia. I'll have to try it again later today, but so far I've died LOADS of times in this game. Probably a hundred or so.

I started on Titan (hard) as well, as I played the earlier 2 games in the god of war collection on normal and thought it was too easy, often just ignoring health chests because I didn't need them (bosses still killed me occasionally though)

So far I'm doing ok, died maybe 25 or 30 times so far Razz

I enjoy it though, because the fights are just much more exciting when you're actually fighting for your life.

Yeah.. I hate a game thats too easy. Wait till you come across the giant scorpion... that battle took me the better part of an hour.

I think the percent complete meter is off though... when we've been stuck in a fight, we've been using the youtube walkthroughs for battle tips. He shows the scorpion fght at walkthrough 46... and the game is reporting I've got only 40% completed.. but the walkthroughs number up only to about 67 or so.

Using that as an indicator, I'm closer to 70% complete, not 40%.

I'm guessing all told, I'll be at 20-30 hours total. Still not too shabby, length wise.

Where do you see your percent complete meter? And the difference may be that he collected more items than you have. Maybe that's why you're showing 40 and he;s showing something different, but where is this in the menu?

I fought the scorpion yesterday. He was really hard lol... one time I had to activate a quicktime event on him and was almost at full health, so I ran over to his head and then little scorpions came from all directions and attacked me at the same time and killed me in half a second. Razz

I got him eventually though... took maybe... 10 tries or so.
Eventhough I die so much it's never frustrating because the deaths are really always my fault. It's not like the game is cheap or anything, so I just keep trying and it doesn't bother me.

Nope..it's not on the save file either. Checked that earlier.

Jeez, I really have to say that I love this game and I can honestly say that I think that it's the best looking game I've ever played by quite a way.

EDIT: I just got done with the Chronos bit. Oh my lord! Shocked

In the game itself, you can see amount of time played. In the ps3 trophy utility, you can see percent of game completed.

(Or am I reading that wrong, and it's percent of trophys completed?)

I think the toughest enemies in the game are the grim reaper wraiths. The ones that go underground. They take unbelievable amounts of hits to kill, and when they are paired with multiple enemies you are properly fucked if you cant take them down quickly.

yeah. the labyrinth on titan kicked my ass with the battle including these guys, and sirens, and minotaurs. it was just crazy.

Another returning enemy that regularly kicked my ass is the goat man with the double bladed staff thing...
I just don't get how you're supposed to handle them. They do all those crazy moves and jump over you and grab you through your block, and are really hard to hit.. I dunno maybe I'm missing something.


Finished the game before and it was truly epic. I guess more fights involving titans would have been nice, but what was there was really well done. I also like that there's less platforming/puzzle stuff than in previous games so it will lend itself better to replaying.
I know I'll play it again just to see those awesome bosses again.
The end was fitting, if a little underwhelming. gotta respect how they wanted it to end I guess.

great trilogy, let's see what those guys are going to give us next.

for the Centaurs ( horse men ) you have to wait until the horse rears back and leaves vulnerable. Or use the gods power by pressing in both analogs and give them some hits.. the only real way to beat them is to wait for him to lunge his double spear at you and counter his attack.. kratos will stab him in the belly and kick him over and leave him vulnerable for about 5 seconds allowing you to get some good combo hits in.

keep at range and spam him with your bow and arrow is a good option too.

Actually, the centaurs are piss easy when you use Hercules' boxing gloves.

I know the ones you mean. The fuckers that fly over your heat and hook you on the end of their spear. They're viscious.
