I want all folders in explorer to be displayed as 'Details'. Not thumbnails. I goto folder options, Save as current folder. It does save current folder only.

How do I make every single folder on my PC to be viewed as 'details'? XP did this without issue. It seems Windows 7 only sets the view option per folder, not for all folders. This is just ridiculous.

Yeah, I tried that and also have tried this many times after rebooting. I am the only user for this pc and admin level, so its not like im using different accounts. UAC is also set to OFF.

Every day it seems I go into a new folder and there they are -thumbnails. I have to set view as 'details', then goto folder options>view tab>click 'apply to folders'. Apparantely, the apply to folders feature is broken.

My link is something different. What you are doing is applying the current folder's style to all the other folders of that type.

I believe from reading all the replies, I need to use reg entry for "2. To Set General Items Folder Template as Default".
Since, I have to mess with the registry, Ill hold off for now. I just clicked on a bunch of random folders from 4 different harddrives and all are in details view-thats good.

If this issue pops up again, ill try the reg edit. Thanks.

No, that was due to a Trojan - not release issue. Trojan was knocking out firewall.

Infected with:
Trojan.Win32.DNSChanger.kqk
Trojan.Win32.DNSChanger.kqk is one of the Windows illegal malicious programs which may occupy system resources and slow down computers. Some of such malicious programs may frequently pop up advertising messages to interrupt computer users, while more severely they may destroy the data in computers. The followings are instructions on how to manually remove malicious spyware programs.
