I gave in a bought the game, but I also have the collecters edition, is there any chance that GOW3 does a recap at the start?

not the best ps3 game by far.. game play is too repetitive for that imo.. Demons Souls is still better, uncharted 2 is still better.

Anyway, this is still a SWEET game. Fucking love it.

But FUCK ME! is it hard on very hard setting. Those bat motherfuckers who drop red bombs are hard as hell to avoid. They rape my ass every time i try to get into hades gates. Medusa takes it up the ass quite easily but its hard to do her when theres 50 of those flying cunts at you at once Twisted Evil

No, play the GOW Collection and then GOW3, i did the same and its the best way to go.

And GOW 1 and 2 are just as good or maybe even better Razz ( i think GOW1 is my favourite i just love it)

Plus you really want to follow the storyline as it moves along. Kinda like the Aliens movies.. yeah Aliens rocks, BUT you wanna really see Alien first.

Ok, I'm past Hades now.. but some of these big battles are nasty!

I'd have to wait 5 days to get it though. It's 60 Euro's here in the shop so 40 is a good price. Games are cheaper in the UK than they are in the Netherlands. In the past I have ordered from play.com but the price for the top new games is still always in the 50's and like I said..you have to wait for it. Anyway, I was offered another one for 40 euro's brand new so I'm getting that one instead.

Also, second hand is hardly second hand when the guy has a receipt for it showing that it was bought yesterday...lol. The only thing that was missing from it was the seal. This is what I do to play my PS3 games for free. I buy them a few days after release for 35 to 40, and then sell them a week later for the same price. I win. It's more hassle than downloading a 360 game but atleast I get to play what I want on the PS3 for free on the unhacked system.

EDIT: How long actually is this game that someone would finish it in one day? It must be hella short no?

Done and Done. Game completed on Very Hard and all trophies nailed Very Happy

Overall, 9/10 TOP game. Not *quite* knocking uncharted 2 off my best game in recent years but scraping at its heels for sure Very Happy

Some people plow through these things, without eating or sleeping.

I'm at 15%, with 5 hours plus in it now. For me, it'll probably end up being 40 hours or so, all told, but then I only play maybe 2-3 hours a day tops... so this will take me 3-4 weeks to complete one play through.

Bioshock took me about 3 weeks, and bioshock 2 took me about the same timeframe.

I clocked in around 7-8 hours on this game. There's no way anyone can extend it to around 40 hours unless you sit and admire the scenery for extended periods of time while you have dinner or something lol. Unless of course if you mean playing it multiple times, playing through the different modes, getting all the trophies etc.

on hard mode first time around it took me 7 hours with a total of 60 deaths.

Second time around on very hard took me 12 hours with 200 deaths Laughing Yeh theres a difference

40 hours for my gran on hard mode maybe, but not for everyone else

honestly, the second Laughing

I did throw something a few times.

The boss fights are particularly difficult on very hard, Hades being probably the hardest I think.. I'm not too sure how many times I did die on him but it was a lot.

Also soon after Hades the standard battles get really fucking tough. Just to mention also, the actual gates to hades battle with medusa + the bats + minotaurs, holy shit that was hard at first.

Anyway, back on topic. I got mine earlier today so I'll get stuck into it tonight when everyones in bed. Can't wait.

EDIT: I was wondering which difficulty to play on . Should I go with the hardest right off of the bat? Is that even possible? I'm pretty good at this type of game. Ninja Gaiden was my bitch, how does the hardest difficulty compare to that?

I bought a PS3 today with GoW3 bundle, I could not resist buying Uncharted 2 as well. I must say buying games feels kind of weird.

As far as I know the english language should be included with all dubbed releases.

Well I can change only the text, there is no option to change game language in the settings menu. I changed the system settings to English, did not help. Anyway seems quite weird.

More weird stuff - I quit the game, registered a PS3 account, re-run the game and all of a sudden I have an option to change dialogues to normal. Praise Gods of Olympus.

Ok, I checked.. my wife is 20 percent in, and is at 7 hours, seventeen minutes.

Assuming the rest is takes just as long, that would put her at about 35 hours total gameplay one time through.

And she just diddles Aphrodite!

Oh, BTW.. did you guys recognise who the voice of Hercules was? Kevin Sorbo, of Hercules and Xena fame!

Try that with Hercules.. Wink
Actually you CAN use the bow once you get the the final battle with him, once you've removed his armor.
