Plus its all i need to "complete" my upgrade. just bought a i7 920 (oc to a 940 obviously, haven't bothered to get higher "yet") on a asus p6t mobo ( http://www.toppreise.ch/pic_166527.html) Intel x58 and 6 gb of ddr3 ram in triple channel ( OCZ platinium : http://www.toppreise.ch/pic_157909.html) for ~700-800$ (depending on $ lol). but still using my 2 9600gt's in sli. And even tho they do work fine, its obviously time to upgrade (because i WANT and because i CAN lol). Like in the past tho, i will buy one card first and the second like a month or 2 later, helps to spread out the expensense lol.

what mobo you got? ive got the same vcard as you but i cant sli cause i got an amd mobo, im curious to the performance increase in 2 of these cards tho

I've got an ASUS Crosshair, with the old Nforce 570 chipset.

Also yes, I wonder what performance increase I would get from that since I'm quite sceptic to sli to start off with.

Is the ban permanent? I mean, they have to get a new s/n now to play online?

You should mate, really; you're missing all the fun...
If your videocard is rather "decent" a cheaper dual-core could be enough for you (even if a quad remains the recommended choice for BC2).

As far as i know pb ban is for all servers that use pb, and permanent.

I hope i'm right with this, cheaters shouldn't cheat in online games.

Was just on a server that had six or seven people kicked for using aimbots, while I've long suspected it's rife.

It just makes me wonder what is the point of playing when there's stupid, thick kids cheating because they don't have the intelligence or skills to compete? Rather than attempt to improve and refine their skills, they would rather cheat and spoil the game for everyone else. It really fucking annoys me Evil or Very Mad

I think it makes more sense to buy a cheaper Quad...going for dual core as a new purchase is not very future proof. And right now more and more apps/games are moving to Quad support, making Duals essentially very lower end.

I am thinking of getting a Q-series quad core...getting an i7/5 would be preferable, but that would require getting a new Mobo, memory and even a cooler as well and I don't have the resources for that at the moment.

If you are going for a new PC, AMD is definitely worth looking at, that's true. They are not as fast as Intels, but cost much less, so price/performance ratio is better.

If you intend to buy a quad and don't plan to upgrade in the next 2-3 years, then an i5 or the 1156 i7 is really more preferable than an AMD CPU. AMD should just hurry and release their six-core CPU if they want to stay competitive.

i don't know if anyone already mentioned it but be careful. There is a "unofficial performence patch" for bc2 that is supposed to "improve" your fps. don't download it! it's a trojan / keylogger...

If youre CPU is getting bottlenecked,, turn up the gfx settings Very Happy

Would go for a i5 if its mostly for gaming, got a i7 my self and Im quite happy with it.

Havent tried it, and not going to. But If you lower the gfx settings, does it turn down the smoke ?

If any one wants to play some squad play.
