Download the Razor version, the old "clonedvd" doesn't work, its files have differents filesizes.

Try turning off both the DX11 options and setting the quality no further than High. Should give you very playable fps. Just make sure AA is set to AAA and not 4xMSAA, as the latter will completely kill your fps.

Game's fine but short. And it feels more like a movie. A good linear presentation though. I already beat it and it's a one-way experience to me. Once you play it, there's is not much anything else you can do with it. Low replay value.

About the different endings
Spoiler: | Isn't that decided in the hallucination right before the end? You can choose two paths; one leads to a wounded souldier( the guy you left a bit further down in the tower I think ) and another leads to a standing soldier. I suspect going to the wounded soldier might give you the good ending, while going to the other one gives you the bad ending. |

This game unveils like an uncut diamond. I like it more and more. On a second run now.

You're right, just tried it and it only leads to death.
At any rate, it's an interesting game, but I feel it has alot of untapped potential. It could really do with the open non-linear game world that Stalker had, and weapon upgrades. It also doesn't really manage to be scary, since it throws way too many enemies at you, which pretty much ruins the suspense. The main plot was kind of weak/boring too.
I'm sure they'll make a sequel or something though, so maybe they'll do it even better the next time.

Well, it's really not type of the game to compare to STALKER at all. They are both different kind of FPS genre.
It's like comparing Fallout 3 to Mass Effect 2 (very different types of RPG).

Well there isn't much of a plot. I think it's more about made decisions and how they translate into a certain conclusion. In this matter, I find it, to be honest, a more "personal" game than any Stalker title.
Yes, it could have been a bit more complex than this, but it's a very good start. There's room for more (sequel, dlc etc.).
Waiting for a patch to fix some technical/weird performance issues, the stupid AI and to balance the incredibly FRUSTRATING orbs sequence.

I'm at chapter 4, got of that train thing, and went ahead. I got to a tunnel and noticed a way down and followed it. It came to a dead end (a part with a huge room where you have to put on the mask). I went back up to the same tunnel and now there is a cart driving back and forth with a turret on it. I managed to hit the driver, but the thing still tears me appart, can't move an inch without being shot. Any suggestions

Ah so those things that spawn those blobs can be destoyed as well, bit different from your last point however as I always made it but they mostly targeted my companion and he always ended up dying due to him constantly rushing forward and the amount of blobs spawned.
(Knowing that the actual spawn things can be taken out as well will help a bit with future attempts though.)

guys maybe this PHYSX when i was installed is the reason that fps is between 20-30 fps , sometimes 17??? I got 5850 , or no?
edit: YEAAAAAAAAAAH !!! I turn OFF ONLY ADVANCED DOF in DX 11 options and got from 17 fps 30-40 fps in first battle !!! near this car in frozen place

WTF !!? I just turn off tesselation and gain in some places from 25 fps to 44 fps.
With DOF OFF and tesselation OFF.
Example: Dof OFF , Tesselation ON - some place when peoples are a lot = 25 fps
Dof OFF, Tesselation OFF - the same place = 44 fps
DX11 is pointless and a total waste in this game.

Tesselation is used for everything in this game as the developers explained, unsure what the DoF effect actually does with it's shader but it is quite heavy as well, both off should however use DX11 at a more performance effective path than DX10.
(DX10 adds shader based MSAA, as of patch 1 or content.upk0 if you check it with a unpacker and it also adds shadow filtering and general tweaks and improvements but hits framerate a bit even with AA disabled and on high, which disables some DX10 effects already as seen from the options descriptions.)
Furthermore ATI has a rather "weak" tesselation "engine" in their GPU's compared to NVIDIA (Or so it's been said.) so performance is hit a bit harder than it should be when it's used although the 5800 serie and above is still capable of using the effect due to their raw speed.
(Ofcourse tesselation will always hit performance as it's sort of a brute attempt at injecting a lot of model detail by massively increasing polygon count and thus GPU calculations needed to handle and process it plus stuff that uses polygons like shadows and such being more demanding.)

I can hardly tell the difference between tessellation on and off even in direct screenshot comparisons. The difference was much bigger in the Unigine benchmark, but they obviously skimped out on detail in the non-tessellated version.

in some forum i find screens comparison between dx 11 and dx 10 . Tesselation OFF and ON , POV ON and OFF......no difference , maybe in some of screen a bag is little more sharp
but visually nothing , FRAMERATE only is a big huge difference

Haveing a hell of a time in depoit below library looking for papers
Creature keeps f#@king with me and run out of air
Do I need creature to break a barrier I can't ?
Where are those papers? Iv'e looked in all those little rooms

You'll get a cutscene, when you get into room with papers. As for barriers, only ones I found where wooden doors, and they can be destroyed with knife.
