If Ive been playing a game for more then a month. Then I buy it. So far its:
Half-Life + expansions
Half-Life 2
Diablo 2 + LOD
Warcraft 3 + FT
Next on the list is WoW.

No, online it's gay. The jewel of this game is the SP. Believe me, I bought this game some time ago, first thing I tried was the MP because I knew that the SP rocked. I tried the MP and was horribley disappointed, just another run and shoot game nothing special about it, no tactics nothing. Maps were pretty basic also. I put a crack on the game so I could keep playing the SP and the next day i traded it for UT2004, which is a good game in every sence  |

- Half-life 2 (Worth the money, cause of all the custom content the gameplay value could last for years)
- Doom 3 (No comment, shouldn't have bought it, at least not for MP)
-Diablo 2 + expansion (Played online some years ago until I got tired of all the cheaters)
- Baldur's gate 2(Never got to finish it, just too big)
- Resident Evil 3(Fun for a couple of hours, but wasn't worth the money)
- Soldier of fortune
- FIFA 2001
- Wizards and Warriors (Very good and underrated old skool RPG)
- Vampire : The masquerade (Great game, a shame of the second one)
- Some OLDER budget games
That's about it... I'm planning on buying guild wars later this year and DoD : Source.

I recently bought these games :
- HL²
- GTA san andreas (ps2)
- Halo 2 (XboX)
Why ? coz there are very very good games and developpers have to be rewarded

Yeah, id really is such a great group of people. The development team for almost every id game was just john carmack, and his friends. Including Doom3.

Lol, Doom3 I bought this piece of shit game aswell but I fucking sold it. Never is it worth the 60 euro. The MP is about as gay as it gets. I don't mind the 2 vs 2 thing but It's just lame, there are no tactics nothing the maps are boring and small, fuck it. There are a billion other shooters which own this game in the MP department. The SP is lame as well, you do only two things in this games, shoot monster and get PDA's to open shit, That's the only thing you do, it's fucking ridicioules that even in 2004 such games were made, where you have such fucking linear gameplay. Walk shoot, walk shoot, walk shoot, PDA, open door, walk shoot, walk shoot, that's doom3. Some people call this one of the most frightening games ever made, not once was I scared, not once. The only thing good about this game are the graphics, the rest is mediocre shit. I don't give a fuck about the name, I don't give a fuck about the history of it, I don't give a fuck about how good the graphics are or what the fanboys say the game is fucked and could have been alot better. ID screwed up like a fag on this title.

COD UO, for multiplayer and still play it.
I buy games when I really like it and want to play it on multiplayer. Games that I bought I played them for more than 6 months and for COD and MOH:AA I played them more than 1 year
Reality is an illusion caused by the lack of alcohol.

To bad the entire point of the game was to be like Doom but with great graphics, and that they accomplished. I really wonder what you thought doom3 was supposed to be like. I can tell you this, if doom3 would have been any different, it would have been gayer just because of the fact that it would not have been doom then.
The entire point of doom is to run around shooting every single fucking thing in site, and they accomplished this in doom3. When I bought doom3 this is what I wanted, and expected. It scares me to think what you expected. Did you expect splinter cell style gameplay? Or maybe sit on your ass working puzzles gameplay? And please oh please dont tell me you were lead to think different. The entire time while doom3 was being built, and hyped about, all they were saying was that it was doom but with next gen graphics, and a little bit of a story. So once again, what did you expect?

Honestly, I read an interview once, that you would be accompanied by Marines and sometimes scientists, who you would have to escort. Not once did you go with marines and the escort part was about 4 minutes long. Playing on your own the entire time is fucking boring in such games, it would have been ok if it was scary but it was definitley not, Half the fucking game you are trying to catch up with the marines and then when you reach them they get fucked. I was expecting some team gameplay. Like I said it would have been ok playing on your own if the game was frightning, I expected it to be some what more scary. The game is all about meat, it has no horror, except if you call monsters horror. I've played a million games shooting up all kinds of monster why would this game be scary? What is so different about the monster in this game? Just cause they look better makes them more frightning.....? I'm sorry but you will have to do better than that. I can only see a 5 year old finding this scary.
The game should have had more depth. I could have just as well played Doom1 or Doom2. Every game has to evolve in a way, you can't take a formula that is 10+ years old which has been done twice already by the same company and a million times by other companies in their games and then release it with great graphics and expect it to be earthshaking. Doom3 evolved in the graphic department and they are excellent, but still I think the game sucks cause it's 10+ years old and I've played it countless times. Gameplay goes far over graphics. If this game was not named Doom, if this game was not under ID it would have been a flop, and it would have gotten a mediocre rating, except for graphics. Why would I ever..... ever..... play a game which I have played a 10000000 times over again with better graphics, why? Or even worse, pay 60 euro for it? I would play it for 10 minutes then uninstall and forget it.
Now you're going to say "omfg fuck off" but yes I am going to compare the game to HL2 like has been done a billion times. Take HL1 and take HL2, that is what i called evolved, in gameplay and in graphics. Please don't start the whole Doom3 engine VS source engine thing please. I believe you ok? But I think HL2 looks better and I find HL2 more interesting. I fucking hate puzzles, HL2 has some correct, Doom3 has none correct, but shooting monsters and walking in the same corridors for 15 - 20 hours get's fucking boring and if that is the case I'd rather have some puzzles thrown in the mix. There are alot of gameplay elements in HL2 and it's very diverse. Every hour you get something new to do or see in HL2, this keeps the game fresh and it keeps me hungry. In Doom3 you see something new the first hour and then you play the game untill the end.
The multiplayer, even more disappointing. Reading interview and previews how it was so good and so new and all with per pixel hit bullshit. You would really have to aim to hit someone, because the bullets could go under his legs or arm. Right..... when you have to waist 2 clips to kill someone you really think this matters or has any effect on the gameplay? Not to mention that the maps are small, boring and look/are like the maps in SP. I'll tell you after playing the game and seeing the same type of corridor for 20 hours the last thing I want to do is play a MP match in one of them, with more than arcady gameplay and a weak 2 vs 2 match. Fuck that. For me the MP was even more disappointing than the game self.
I'll get back to your question. What did I expect? I expected richer gameplay, that's is what it boils down to. I enjoyed Doom3 alot in the first 3, 4 hours, but it stopped after that, because It's repetetive, maybe that would have been a fitting name,: Repetetive 3.
I know you like Doom3 alot, I do know. Everyone has an opinion, you like Doom3 that's fine by me. You like the 10+ year old formula with a new coat on it, fine by me, but I don't like it. I don't like it at all maybe the expansion will fix this. I'm sure the game would have been alot better if they just added the things they are going to add in the EXP. Like the grappler and the time slowing things and the other elements you can use. Hell..... 4 vs 4 MP i guess that's better than nothing...... The game could have been quite decent, but as it is now, I think It's a piece of shit game, not worth my time nor any serious gamers time.
