I think thats part of the drm, since u need to gain xp and level up to be able to unlock new units while progressing through the campaign.

My savegame folder works fine, when i save the game with name 1234 and close the game (to desktop) i dont have any problems loading it later when i restart the game. I just click on the 1234 name and select load. Very Happy

PS: Incase people want to try something to get their saves to work, find your save game folder C:\Users\*****\Saved Games\Command and Conquer 4\test (where ****** is there should be your (computer) name)

Try this if your saves do not work

1. Save the game
2. Alt tab out of the game and go to C:\Users\*****\Saved Games\ and copy the folder Command and Conquer 4 to your desktop or something.
3. Go back to the game and close it and check if the folder got removed, if it is removed place your backup back.

Might work, but i didnt do this !

It's using RNA (updated SAGE) engine, as pointed out above and your game icon is fucked up there.

It's not fucked up, my windows 7 has been installed 2 days ago. This is the only game installed so far.

Whatever guys Rolling Eyes, the icon is located @

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight\GameExplorerSupport.dll

Right mouse click on your icon and select the option to change it, direct it to the dll file and you will see the red alert 3 (uprising) icon Rolling Eyes

Now come back and say i am wrong Laughing

Thanks but the file is the same (same hashes and crc32)....i wonder how this is possible then Laughing. (I didnt install RA3 on this laptop, the installation is clean)

What a horible butchered game.

Besides the abysmall DRM wich does not let you play the game offline, the game also has no LAN so gg trying to play it at a LAN party with your friends.

The worse comes to worse when you actually play the game. This is NOT c and c, its a whole new game wich uses the c and c logo and storyline.
How ever there are no units to build, resources dont matter and its pretty much spam whatever units you can and throw them in the fray.

Horible rts game wich should only be pirated and played for the story and thats it.

Personally I own ra3, i own c&c3 but this game is a slap in the face to westwood and their fans

The icon it shows depends on the country/language code you've set Windows to, EA put in the wrong icon for some languages.

I had my hopes when C&C3 got aired, but when i played RA3 i got a bad feeling for C&C4......and yet....this game is worse then RA3 Sad

I played the Beta and i had the SAME issue with the Icon it used my RA3 icon, and i did have the game installed, so maybe some bug.?

I like CnC and have bought every one in the past. Was always planning to play this one with my friend when it was announced anyway. He's picking up his copy tomorrow even though I warned him to save his money and get God Of War 3 instead... Still will play through it on coop and perhaps dabble a bit in the MP despite it's epic crapness. Probably will be the last one I buy though if this is EA's idea of great RTS gaming.

seriously though, didn't like DoW 2 so much, I want coop within a CnC game not the Warhammer universe.

Patch out since a few days ago, unsure what's changed but several files were updated/patched. (About 3 GB all in all as it patches existing files instead of adding new ones.)
