The same people who say this game is too linear and restrictive are probably the same people who loved Half Life 2. This game is very similar in structure and just as linear. It does take some getting used to at first because games nowadays are mostly open world or at least offer more choice. Metro 2033 more than makes up for the lack of choice with the excellent atmosphere and it really rewards you for exploring. I don't like linear games as much myself but it works for this game.

I think this game kicks ass actually.
Been dying for a good linear story. I'm so sick and tired of all the free world games with nothing to do in em. ._.

Supposed to fix the widescreen glitch some people were having and "black screen" issue...some performance tweaks would be nice though.

Spoiler: | Can you find the advanced AK version from Hope anywhere else?
I managed to buy the armor but didn't have any for the weapons (saved my entire money the entire game and fucked it up at the previous chapter).
I'm referring to the AK2012.

Well...
After updating my drivers to the Catalyst 10.3 a Preview Driver and installing the update the game displays at 1440x900 full screen as it should, but performs slightly worse than the 1.0 version running in a windowed 1440x900 with the 10.2 cats.
Back to Bioshock, I guess.

There's a unpacker on Multiex.xentax.com that works on most archives minus the patch ones at the moment.
(Content.upk0 for the 0-day update, so don't remove if if possible, and content.upk1 for yesterdays update that fixes the widescreen aspect ration and some other stuff apparently.)
Unfortunately the game does not read files outside of a archive so a repacker is required.

ORly! it seems it is, YARLY. Interesting, might pick it up based on the games story line since its very strong.
They should do more Book-to-games rather than movie-to-games more often.

They should do some very atmospheric/moody 1984 adventure game with some action sequences ala Blade Runner.
Or an action adventure with extended hacking minigames based on Neuromancer (I know there's an old game already)
Some books are just awesome. All we get are LotR and Harry Potter console shit games. No style.

If only there was no checkpoint system.
I mean, wtf?!? Doing some instance over 30 times until you do it right. Wasting time energy and nerves, instead having fun.
And levels designed in such way that failing/not doing sneaking at some parts means almost certain death.
THE worst side effect of multi-platform design are PC games with checkpoint system.

If you are dying a lot that means you need to turn the difficulty down. Turn it back up after you pass a bit you're having issues with but complaining about your lack of skill doesn't wash. I maybe had to redo any given area once or twice.
