I'll buy this together with my brother, but I think 9 hours is ok. I don't remember how long GOW1 and 2 were, but there are much shorter games out there that don't even offer half the value of this one...

you got to admit he makes a good point. don't ya'll get tired of paying 60 bucks for a few hours entertainment? if it has replayability that's one thing, even if you choose to not replay it you are at least getting the option with the purchase.
but if it's really a one time thing @ 60 bucks that is pretty crappy if you consider the hype and how long some have been waiting for it. that's *if* it's true at least. i've noticed for my own playing style if someone says a game is 10 hours that means i can add 2 - 4 hours to it but that's usually due to collectable crap, etc.

im sorry but $60 is fucking piss money. At 9 hours thats like $6.66 an hour, a cinema ticket in the UK costs almost $10 most of the time for a ~ 2 hour gig and you cant keep it when you walk out from seeing it once. Also you dont realize that when it says 9 hours to complete, that is usually on the easiest setting without dying or slowing down at any point to get past difficult levels.. Id imagine it will take more like 15 hours or more to complete it on harder settings.
This game looks like it will be worth every penny.
What do you think it costs to make a game on the quality level of GOW3? il tell you, $44 million, so I dont see anything wrong with them charging me $60 for a it especially when I can keep it and play it as many times as I like.
Also.. One of the reasons the PC gaming industry is downhill lately is because tight cunts wont pay for good PC games, so the good developers dont have the budgets required to keep making them. No two ways about it. They go to consoles because more people have to buy PS3 games than those who will just download it for free on PC and never pay for it even if they liked it. Its the reason why 99% of games nowadays are utter shite and go straight to consoles.

Both the original God of War games are around the 9 hours mark. They have quite a lot of unlockables and extra fluff once you've completed it though (behind the scenes videos, story videos, extra difficulty levels, challenge levels, etc) and the two sequels also have a new game+ mode that is (supposedly) pretty interesting. Not having completed either of those two yet I can't vouch for it.

i'm looking forward to 3 but man i'm about sick of this first game. i'm in pandoras temple doing the hades thing right now walking around on wooden beams and i just got disgusted and cut it off. it's like there's no direction and you can't control the camera to look around and figure out where to go. i sure hope gow2 is different.

the camera and balancing act i can deal with. just getting burned out with it overall. all this button mashing and block moving and level pulling and i'm not getting much in return. at this point i dont even know what i'm doing. i've collected 2 or 3 muse keys and i don't even know what i'm supposed to do with them.
there was some statue in some water before i went into the hades part and i still dont know what that was about. if they would just provide more direction as in i'm doing this to accomplish that. i know i know, crying and being a bitch and shut up and play but still. not a bad game for circa 2005. i just hope 2 has a little more direction to it.
all things considered from this game and what i expect 2 to be i'm thinking 3 should be off the chart. will be buying it for sure but will be selling this collection game on ebay to cover some of the cost of it.

. Not sure about you guys but if I beat the game fast enough I resell on ebay and get most my money back this one however is going next to my metal gear collection in the dvd tower.
