1. Run the razor1911_installgame.exe file
2. Install to directory of your choice, point to the correct files in the mounted iso if asked
3. Go to the directory you installed the game in and then into the Install folder
4. Install everything there even if you think you've already got the stuff installed, just in case
5. Copy all files from the razorcrack directory in the iso to the game directory. |
yes very funny this works for some pp, but for 50% of the post Ive read it don't.
i have all the bs installed (dx, physx blablabla), tried removing the files, tried differed compatibility modus on the .exe properties. ive the latest nvidia drivers but still this piece of shit release won't start.

Dont really know then. Installed all the updated drivers that came with it (vc_redist, physx, directx) and moved those files after it refused to load up and its working fine now for me.
EDIT: also it runs much better with dx10 on high setting than it did with the very high. Didnt spot any major visual drop and got rid of the awful object blur

Again i say, just cause the game is working fine for you, doesn't mean it's working fine for everybody else.
Did everything just like it should've been done, installed physx, dx, vcredist, and my computer isn't "shitty configured".
I'm calling bad crack.

it appears like I have really fixed my issue now.
If you have dual monitors turn off the secondary monitor...disable it in the graphics drivers or in windows.
My game started 3 times in a row this time.

Hmm... I have dual monitors, didn't have any issues. It is possible that the game sets a wrong resolution for you. You should find the resolution settings in user.cfg and change them accordingly, if you want to try a find a way to get this to work with dual monitors enabled.
Edit: Though if that's the case, considering that you launched the game and have already set the resolution, it should work already with the second monitor enabled.

Nah i'm done. Apparently the razor installer blows, it didn't work properly the first time, tried it again, replaced some corrupted/missing file, the game loaded now, even if it's telling me that my drivers are outdated (even if they're the latest version which i downloaded like 2 hours ago.)
But whatever, gonna check it out.

lol,
no fucking way am I going to be the ginger one ok ?
dual monitors here works fine with them both on
xTerro, if its reporting ur drivers are out of date then something is wrong maybe with your driver install somewhere? the game will get the info from your files on ur rig, so something is not quite right maybe?
Im sure you do a proper removal of drivers everytime you change them though right? with driver cleaner pro etc? dont use sweeper it DOES NOT remove all the registry entries and leaves some files behind, it always has done, Pro is better for a complete job..

Is there any way to set this game to use maximal 70 Hertz ?
I think this is my problem with the Signal out of range error in my screen....

Game works fine here on Normal video settings - Geforce 8800 320MB GTS.
solid 40 FPS most of the time.
however, it seems like the screen is too far outstretched. I'm using 1440x900 Resolution. anyone encounter this issue? like, when you load up a level, the text and title are being cut. weird, it's very smeared.
and another Question - anyone has ANY idea regarding the name of the Jazz track that is being played on the beginning of Chapter 1, when you're in your cabin in the underground? it's amazingly beautiful. help me here, jazz afficionados. would love to know the name of it. thanks in advance.

I'm running the game with the SR release and crack with the content.upk0 file deleted and the game is running pretty well, looking very nice.
Running it in 1920 x 1200 on Very High with DX11 settings on and no AA I get about 25 FPS.
With the settings changed to just High I get about 35-40 FPS and it still looks very nice.
Using a 5850 with an X4 940 CPU and 4GB memory on Win 7 X64.
Only thing I do not like very much is the shooting. The enemies take way too much damage before dieing and the shooting feels kind of clunky. The guns look very cool though so it is kind of a shame. Fortunately the story and atmosphere make up for it, this game is definitely worth playing.

Ah come on ... somebody must know of a command to let it run in 70 Hertz ??
Seems more people have this problems because their monitor doesnt support 85 Hertz

Hmm, 1680*1050 is looking right here (ie. 16:10), no stretching.

Tried the game, runs decently on high (very high is unplayable). Just begun, but the games is quite fun, very atmospheric. The combat against humans is good imho, good mix of stealth and action, that requires a bit of strategy due to the shortage of bullets. The combat against monsters however is fucking shit... the enemies just charge at you and gangrape your ass, removing the tactic aspect of fighting against humans and making the action confused, the limited ammos and slow reload times are not suited to that kind of combat.
But overall looks good.
Finally: wtf is going on with the nvidia drivers thing? Every time I start the game it says I must upgrade the video drivers, but I already did, I have the latest version!

I don't get what people say about enemies taking too many shots. At all. I'm playing on Hardcore, and bandits die from 2-3 shots from the "Bastard". The Snouts die from 3 revolver shots and so on.

Here, too, but the fov is shit.
About the Nvidia drivers being old warning, it's because Nvidia had newer drivers than the 196.21 out for a day or two, but pulled them because of temperature control bugs.
The Metro devs didn't get the memo.
EDIT: Do this 1-byte change to bypass the error, so your friends don't make fun of you

What I find more annoying is that bullets don't slow enemies down... it makes the combat feel weird, every modern fps does it, guess I just got used to it and now it seems strange. (hell *modern*.... Goldeney did it in '96)

Yes, and using sick_fov = 90 is even worse
I can't play with 45/75 because it make me sick, and now I can't play with 90 because it looks like shit and it has some graphical issues, like the characters arms, sometimes I can't see them.

Well I'm just playing on normal and the bastard is taking close to a clip to drop a monster bastard, that's using the shitty ammo, maybe the other ammo has a lot more stopping power.
Whatever the game is great apart from that. I'm hoping the shooting issues resolve later in with weapon upgrades etc.
After checking this out on x360 over the weekend and now playin it on a PC even tho this thing has the usual shitty console checkpoint save garbage the game is incomparably better on a PC better graphics by far and of course weak guns need a mouse and k/b not a lame bill gates gamepad .

SKIDROW+RAZOR1911 on old nV drivers working fine here. I'm getting 30+ fps on high settings 1600x900 aax16 DX10. The game is... good, but not the best. And yeah, those monsters made me lol hard instead of getting scared :/.
