if I delete it the game tries to load and crashes, maybe it will run with the new one.

i extracted the files using phoenix to some flder and now i run metro2033.exe and have
application load error 5:0000065434

don't work here, i installed all files in the install dir (directx11 etc), but the game crashes at the startup. also tried removing the content.upk0 file didn't work.
so what are my options, try the crack from the skidrow release? i have razor release and running win7 x64.

You need to put the crack in. Obviously.
Also, use a proper release instead.
Edit: This was towards Grine, by the way.
Tim, try installing the PhysX released with the game, as well as the DX.

Skidrow + RZR exe seems to work fine here. I get the warning about old drivers, lol, I have 196.21, gonna check nvidia's page.
Awesome graphics, but the guns feel strange, kinda laggy. Ideas ? Or is it just how it is ?

Game looks very nice (Damn sharp shadows and textures, nice Dof and motion blur aswell), and plays good, very nice athmosphere  .
About performance, tried with single 4890 got like average of 30 fps (was fucking horrible), on Crossfire ill get double the FPS, only places where it drops to 20s is when there is shitloads of volumetric lights, other than that it is like 40-50fps as average, can go high as 100.
Some screens with DX10 and very high settings +AAA and 16AF @ 1080p.
EDIT: Forgot to say that this is again graphics engine that does feel smooth only after 40fps  even lets say 30 feels pretty laggy.

crack is in.i run metro2033.exe and have metro 2033 executable has stopped working error

hm i have installed physx alreay, but not from the folder, wil uninstall and install from the folder

Had the same issue. Delete/move content.upk0 and user.cfg (located in the installation folder) and it will work fine

Install everything that is in the Install folder, primarily PhysX. If you have already installed PhysX, try uninstalling it, reboot, then install again. I am not sure if rebooting is necessary, but might as well do it just in case. I had the same issue with Rzr crack, this worked for me.
Deleting that upk0 file is not a good idea, It has some effect on the game(I had some limited options without it, might be just me though).

I did the exact same thing, in the exact same order, twice now.
1) download rzr-proper metro 2033 release.
2) install with install.exe
3) copy over razor1911 folder contents to main game directory.
4) FAIL...

Some didn't want to wait for scene release, and just downloaded the steam sid files, waiting for the decryption keys. But Steam usually does some 0-second patches (lol) as soon as the game is unlocked and ran the first time , so they are missing files.
Others have shitty configured PC and get some generic crashes/problems as usual. This is PC gaming.

Nah, PhysX can be glitchy in this game for some people, it doesn't install properly in certain occasions, so you get CTD/Black Screen...
May be that upk0 file might have some features that rely on it, that's why if you delete it, it works.

Not always that simple. I did everything perfect and it still didn't work.
For anyone who had same problem as me try deleting your user.cfg (I moved it..whatever)
Loaded perfect this time! It still wouldn't load without the content.upk0 file in there...I didn't really want to delete it anyways.

Damn, I really like this game. It's quite different from Stalker (even though there are various atmospheric and stylish hints that connects the siblings). The weapons are actually more realistic and difficult to use than most other games which is probably what's ticking off some people (who're used to auto-aim or something). Makes the game more difficult. They think point-and-click means every single bullet goes straight ahead when in reality they're sprayed somewhere within the markers after the first shot.
Graphics are nice (reminds me a lot of stalker), running at high (at very high it slowed down in various places), fighting is quite difficult, lots of scripting early on to carry the story forward.
Just played a few hours so far, but so far so good.
And I had no problems installing and playing the game (rzr1911 release).
1. Run the razor1911_installgame.exe file
2. Install to directory of your choice, point to the correct files in the mounted iso if asked
3. Go to the directory you installed the game in and then into the Install folder
4. Install everything there even if you think you've already got the stuff installed, just in case
5. Copy all files from the razorcrack directory in the iso to the game directory.

Noone replied to my other post : Does anyone else find the shooting kinda werd/laggy ? Is this how the game is ? I only played 5 minutes but it seemed strange.
I'm also waiting for Nvidia's (fixed) new drivers, to make it even more smooth. I'm probably at 30fps in heavy scenes now, first heavy game after GTA4, for me.

well it is supposed to be that simple as its part of the release nfo order of what to do with the download. its how they cracked the game/way of installing and running it..
If it dont its always down to the end user and his shitty pc setup or out of date driver or other file issues...
regarding physx being glitchy, not really im using ATI card It hardly touches the physx shit, i just updated it cause it probably needs some update number or something regarding runtime shit..

yes very funny this works for some pp, but for 50% of the post Ive read it doesn't.
i have all the bs installed (dx, physx blablabla), tried removing the files, tried differed compatibility modus on the .exe properties. ive the latest nvidia drivers but still this piece of shit release won't start.
